Firestorm is a singleplayer mod for Unreal, following where the official expansion Return to Napali left off.
The player will take the role of prisoner 849 and return to the planet once again.
Return to new locales around the planet, including jungles, mountains, deserts, and floating sky islands, new unique locations not seen before in the original game.
Weild new weapons and items to aid you in your survival, and combat new enemies not seen before.
With both the Skaarj and the Marines returning you will combat both factions while trying to survive... and find a way home.
Firestorm makes extensive use of Oldunreal's unofficial 227 patch, it is recommended that players update their version of unreal to experience the most out of Firestorm.

This is the DNF of Unreal unfortunately. I betatested the mod back in its first phase, towards the end of it like the beginning of 2006 and so. I still have the coop test version somewhere on a DVD RAM. This is not the most popular version though, that one is most likely the "2008" one. Afaik the third phase of the mod, the 227-only and specific version features/changes prevent it being run on current 227 version, making it version locked. He should get some help converting it and releasing it once and for all, maybe together with the old dev. phases just for the heck of it. I could eventually help too, or the old phases could be remastered into "firestorm classic" or something with some changes, given that some stuff about it was not really what Turbo would have liked to release at the time.
The mod ironically grew over its head, ironically because thorought the developement there were jabs at Daikatana and DNF later. One time Turbo was...nevermind I won't bother telling those stories.

I hope it is going to be released... Since Epic doesn't seem to be interested in reviving the Unreal franchise, you guys are our only hope!

I wonder what happened to it it said it's on testing but it's been about 2 years that I have no news about this awesome mod.
