You realize a heavy bolter is already basically an AGLS, right? You didn't have to invent a whole weapon.
Elysian Drop Troops literally have this AGL on their Tauroses, what kind of invention are you talking about?
the heavy bolter is more of an auto-cannon/armour piercing rocket launcher, And the Imperial guards do use man portable grenade launchers too. so its not crazy to have a AGL
