That's awesome!! Now if only there was an ability for the Hierophant that would allow it to pull the Tau Manta out of the sky!

Ok im just gonna ask... did the manta really need to be upgraded.
I always thought it was more of a skill unit, something you had
to micromanage to use well because i have seen a manta easily take
out a reaver titan without much of a problem. So the problem and
the question is, does it actually need an massive firepower upgrade
when if used right it can easily take out titans?

Well, from several test runs, the Manta does not really fall in the category of taking on a Reaver Titan (which is not intentional). Of course, I dunno what did to kill the titan easily in your perspective? But I guess it is safe to assume for its cost and value in version 1.72.7, a Reaver is more powerful and costs less.

Now, after some more test runs after the revamp, the Manta wins only by 5,000 some odd health with its upgrades and still costs more. At this scenario, I feel comfortable with the fact that these titans are balanced now with/without micro managing.

Mantas nuke on the other hand was replaced by something else which is pretty. :3

Well, i was just wondering and in retrospect my last comment was abit over the top. I more meant that if used right a manta can have a good shot at a reaver (though I've mostly used reaver titans as base defenses) and even if used really well take it out and some warhounds if as i say used correctly. But i really don't have a clue if the manta is actually the more powerful unit... actually i believe the reaver in a fair fight would win 90% of the time. The fight i'm more thinking of is an unfair fight units used as scouts to find the reaver titan and then the manta firing at it from out of range or in some cases while the reaver is forced to fight smaller units. Though thats just what i think i'm sure i'm most likely wrong but hey i've seen stuff like 2 reavers get they're arses handed to them by two lucky chapter masters z.z and this was longer then i meant for it to be

"though I've mostly used reaver titans as base defenses"
rofl

I... should try that sometime...

Otherwise great tactics! Yeah the Mantas firing range is extreme compared to the Reaver when fighting aircraft units, otherwise the Reaver can use its missiles and blast the heck outta ya. ^^ So in this case, you are completely correct and I might nerf the Manta more (slightly). However, I need fair fights. One on one scenarios, if and only if the units are titan killer like units.

It really does work the defense thing, Though it's best in very large maps or it stops being base defenses and starts being base destruction

Well I used to play Tau I ran a Manta with no upgrades because the starting weapons are pure anti titan and then stuff 6 skyrays into it to run anti infantry while the remaining army defends my skyrays from vehicles.

Acorrding to the codex the Manta has a shield will the manta in the mod have a shield just like the Eldar phoenix? because currently this tau titan does not have shields like its suppose to.

"For protection, Mantas are equipped with an Energy Shield. These shields make use of highly advanced technology that serves a similar defensive role to Imperial Void Shields. However, Tau Energy Shields work differently in that they do not stop the incoming projectile, but instead use a shaped gravitic field that is positioned in such a way as to deflect incoming fire. These shields are capable of deflecting even the most powerful anti-Titan weapons, as the shield's deflection reponse will become proportionally more powerful as the energy of the incoming attack increases. Whilst Tau Energy Shields can be breached by well-aimed shots, they will rarely, if ever, collapse altogether like their Imperial counterparts."

I mean the Manta itself, has almost 30 different guns equipped to it. I dont want an overpowered item, i just want it to be compareable to units like the Reaver titan, and Doomsday Phalanx.

Description

So gents, on top of version 1.73, all of our titans are being relooked at along with our top two most bugged titan units of UA.

Introducing:
- Hierophant: Fixed animations, more and improved animations, synckills, special attacks, sound effects, improved weapons, more FX applied, and finally fully working combat system is ingame. Thanks to Cosmocrat!

- Tau Manta: No longer wimpy ingame, lame missiles shot from its weapon systems were supermassively improved, jump jets are no longer stalled, glitchy movement were reworked, all weapons are buffed and balanced, firepower of the manta was heavily improved and awesome, scatter shots are added that can be fired from the artillery, and finally revamped FX.

Most of all the Tyranid bio titan is ingame fixed and that titan right there, the one being the most buggy is fixed! No pun intended.

So I really hope you will enjoy these two titans ingame a lot more!

PS: The Helldrake was even reworked!
