This thing almost looks like someone decided to combine a mech with a T-Rex with those stubby missile arms and give it a giant gun strapped to its back. I will greatly enjoy sending this tech-abomination to the deepest pits of the Warp.
In all seriousness though, this is an exquisite model that I can't wait to see in-game.

I don't want to sound ungrateful since it's a free mod done in your own free time and likely made up a good part of your life in the last years but will the riptide suit get a better texture at some point?
It really looks out of place compared to the other suits.
Riptide(s) currently need more then just a texture overhaul. Their walking animations etc. need to be beefed up as well. It's on my todo-list, I am just not certain when it's happening.
Check my profile I do riptide work, i will sell model on cgtrader, so anyone will be able to buy and use it without restriction.
It will contain full animation pack, but no ae, oe code, it's will cost around 60$ I do a lot work so i wanna good income for that))

Do you make highpoly mesh and then bake normal maps?
p.s. Are you use boolean operation to create thats forms? cuz i use a boolean a lot.
Making a highpoly mesh is kinda overkill for DoW since that is usually used in movie productions to create a very detailed topology. Also unless you use very high subdivision levels you get aliasing with sculpting tools. Instead I am using a 4K resolution height/normal map to directly paint height/normal details to the mesh. This yields much crisper edges and is completely independent from your subdivision levels. In order to get height stamps I make a high poly model of just that detail part and render it to texture. This allows me to quickly stamp down high resolution detail and even recycle it on other projects.
Once that is done I feed it to Substance3d.com where I create all the nice edge and texture effects.
P.S.: Booleans all the way!
