The amount of time you must have poured into this map must have been insane. HUge props for your dedication.
However there are a few aspects which would enhance the experience, have you considered adding GoT music to the map or adding conversations between key characters?

Hey! Thanks mate, and sorry for the late reply.
Due to technical issues such as .mid format (?) required for the tracks and also to avoid potential copyright troubles, I won't embed original soundtracks in the forseable future. My suggestion is you silence the original music via the menu and play a GoT playlist of your liking alongside the game. XD I'm sorry.
As for dialogues and missions, I carefully considered pros and cons. But in the end I decided not to add them to the mix as well. I'd like to tell you something clever like "In this experiment I wanted to give the players a steamlined sandbox and let them write their story like free agents, without constraints". And that's actually what I think, kind of. But truth is it would've been a lot of additional work and I'm growing lazy lately. XD
Don't know, but maybe what feels like boring/tasteless to you sounds streamlined to me because in my childhood I used to experience Tzar through the Random Map feature only (no dialogues: build, fight, win) and that's why I don't miss dialogues.
I guess dialogues would definitely work, though. Thanks for the hint. There were other ideas on the table, you know. Custom art for each and every Hero, loading/defeat/victory screen arts, even a red-leaved appearence for weirwood trees, cool things that sadly far exceed my very poor drawing and/or modding skills.
Unless somebody willing to help shows up, I think from now on I'll focus on other projects (other games with noob-friendly editors for maps or stories). I'm not planning to work with Tzar in the near future, but who knows. However, I'd rather work from scratch on a new Dornish map in a few years than pour more efforts in the North now.
Thank you very very much for your appreciation and your interest for KitN.
