Part 1 was released in 2013, but was broken by the Steampipe 2016 update. It is officially not working at this point and no longer in development. There's a fix by Malortie, who managed to reverse engineer parts of the mod and get it running under Source SDK 2013. I am extremely grateful for his efforts - and while it is playable from start to finish - it's using binaries meant for HL2 so the AI, animations and weapons may not work as originally intended and I cannot officially support it. If you'd like to follow my latest project, Trepang2 is a spiritual sequel and you can try out the demo.

New engine, new game. Introducing a new indie FPS which expands on Triage's intense gunfights.

Posted by on

It's not a sequel, but I'm sure fans of Triage's combat will enjoy this. This game expands on the best parts of Triage: the epic gunfights and challenging enemy AI.

It's past prototype stage but nowhere near Alpha. So basically everything (HUD, models, environment, VO etc) is placeholder.

The game's main focus will be on shooting bad guys, so I want to make that as fun as possible before worrying about graphics, story etc. The biggest problem with Triage's development was trying to mash together fun, graphics, story and voice acting together at the same time without it feeling forced.

The game isn't much at this stage, but on the bright side that means nothing is set in stone. Let me know how it looks, what you'd like to see. I'm very welcome to input and criticism, and I'd love to hear what followers of my original mod want to play.

Also coincidentally, a game that inspired this project is holding a contest and I'm going to submit this as an entry. But before that I'd like to share a demo with the Triage fans, just leave a comment below if you'd be interested.

That's correct, it is Unreal Engine 4.

Looks like a game inspired by F.E.A.R which isn't bad and more than so is pretty good since F.E.A.R's AI and slow-mo was an unforgettable experience.

Thanks! The AI is still very basic at this point - they only know how to attack and take cover (though they do it quite well, despite a few minor bugs). I can't wait to show off the more complex behaviors once I get them done :D

Did you re-use some of the wepon animations from triage into this game? Because the animations look similar

There's no content taken directly from Triage, but I did the SMG animations in both games, so it might look a bit similar. These animations were done pretty quickly though so they're just placeholder for now.
