This mod is a “Revival”, that is, a continuation of the original Trek Wars mod made by SMG Modding team. The “original” Revival team (led by Kavok) added factions such as the Klingons, Romulans and Dominion as opposed to the SMG Modding Team that had only added the Federation. Now, a new team, led by Imperial aim to continue these teams’ great work by refining their work and adding brand new content. Our progress has been slow, but we have been working on a new release that will add a lot of new content, and with the help of new team members, our team is producing more content than ever before!
A little later than originally planned, the public release of the space-units-only demo of The Trek Wars is here! This demo adds the Federation, Klingons, Romulans and Dominion as playable factions to Star Wars Empire At War: Forces of Corruption.
The Trek Wars Mod for Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption - Space-Units-Only-Demo Release
Thank you for downloading this public release demo version of the upcoming Trek Wars Mod for Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption.
The first incarnation of the Trek Wars mod was started a decade ago by the SMG modding team, the mod added Star Trek's United Federation of Planets as a playable faction. After an initial 0.9 release the mod went into limbo and had never been touched since.
Having only acquired the actual Empire at War game myself less than a year ago, and having been inspired by the old Star Trek versus Star Wars mod for Star Trek Armada 1 back in 2001, I decided to pick up the Trek Wars mod and finish what SMG started.
This first public demo release comprises of just the space units at this time, but work on the land units will commence in January 2017. As well as the Federation, the Trek Wars mod adds the Klingons, Romulans and Dominion as playable factions.
Installation
Simply drag and drop the "trek_wars" folder from the RAR archive into wherever you install your mods for EAW FOC, then launch from the EAW Mod Launcher.
Using the Federation, Klingon, Romulan and Dominion HUDs
The game unfortunately does not allow you to assign more than three HUDs, SMG originally got the Federation HUD to work by simply replacing the Zann Consortium's HUD with it. All additional factions will also use the Consortium's HUD.
Within the Mod's textures directory I have included five directories containing the Consortium's HUD, the Dominion's HUD, the Federation's HUD, the Romulans' HUD and the Klingons' HUD. All you need to do is go into the directoy for the HUD you want to use, copy the files inside and paste them back into the main textures directory. If necessary overwrite any textures, ensure also that the game is not running when you do the switch.
Known Bugs
1. On the title screen space battle some of the ships' hardpoints explode for some reason, although the ships in question aren't affected.
2. I planned to give the Klingons' Suq'Jagh-class cruiser the ability to use boarding shuttles, like it does in the Star Trek Armada games. Unfortunately I couldn't get this working and have thus left this ability out for now. The vessel does however serve its role as a fighter carrier very well.
3. In Galactic Conquest, when viewing a Federation/Klingon/Romulan/Dominion owned planet, the Starbase model on display is the Pirate asteroid base, even though the XML files have the correct models selected.
4. The Jem'Hadar Bugship has a self-destruct that I have labelled up as a Kamikaze run. I would like to try and get them to Kamikaze properly in the future, but for now you can simulate it by activating the self-destruct and then move the Bugship towards the target you want it to damage.
5. I intended to have the Romulans tech-up by having them steal tech using a Tal Shiar Operative, like the Rebels do with R2D2 and C3PO. Unfortunately I couldn't get this working, so instead they tech-up the same was as the Empire, Federation, Klingons and Dominion.
6. Damar doesn't have much speech, I couldn't find many lines to record for him but if you do find any you would like me to add let me know, I did however manage to make him use my favourite line, the "Pick that up and let's go".
7. Commander Tomalak doesn't have any special unit speech at this moment in time, however I will find something suitable eventually.
The Federation Ships
NOTE - Difficulty wise the Federation are the most well-rounded. Although their ships are more defence orientated they have a good variety of units available.
Aeroshuttle - Standard scout shuttle/fighter. Good for early hit and run missions and grabbing those first few resource asteroids in skirmish mode with its engine boost ability.
Runabout Class - As seen in Deep Space 9. This vessel is armed with torpedoes and is used for bombing runs on Capital ships.
Peregine Attack Fighter - First seen in the TNG episode 'Pre-empitve Strike', used a lot by the Maquis but then used to great effect in the Dominion War. These advanced fighters can be used for both engaging other fighters and doing bombing runs.
Miranda Class - First seen in The Wrath of Khan, this versatile Corvette is good for taking down fighters and engaging other corvettes.
Intrepid Class - Light cruiser, good weapons output and can boost power to weapons as well.
Norway Class - Seen very briefly in First Contact. Another light cruiser that can lure other vessels.
Steamrunner Class - Artillery vessel like it was in the Star Trek Armada games, can use Tri-cobalt torpedoes from long range. Excellent for using on stationery targets and Starbases.
Akira Class - Also first seen in First Contact. This torpedo cruiser is effective against heavy cruisers and even capital ships in the right hands. It can fire off full salvos of photon torpedoes.
Excelsior Class - The venerable Excelsior still has a place at the backbone of the Federation fleet. It has an ability to fire a sensor ping and reveal the fog-of-war in the area it is deployed.
Ambassador Class - The ship class that the Enterprise-C was. Despite its age it is a good front line medium cruiser.
Nebula Class - The Federation science ship and utility vessel. It can repair allied vessels, comes with a point defence phaser and missile jamming field.
Galaxy Class - Heavy cruiser, same ship class that the Enterprise-D was. The Galaxy class can separate the saucer and star drive sections, allowing for good firepower, however separating the vessel reduces its shields effectiveness.
Defiant Class - The regular buildable Defiant class comes with anti-matter mines, is excellent at taking down frigates and cleaning up fighter squadrons. It does however take time for a Defiant to be built.
Sovereign Class - Purpose built Capital ship with phasers and quantum torpedoes. It can also boost its shields.
Prometheus Class - Experimental capital ship, highly effective when it engages Multi-Vector-Assault-Mode, which splits the ship into three units.
Excalibur Class - Federation dreadnought, with heavy phasers, quantum torpedoes and shield boost.
Hero Units
USS Voyager - Captained by Catherine Janeway, Voyager has made it back from the Delta Quadrant, and you can command it. Voyager has a shield boost and can fire a Proton beam.
USS Defiant - The prototype of the Defiant class, captained by Benjamin Sisko. The vessel is the only Federation ship to have a cloaking device, on loan from the Romulans, and can deploy anti-matter mines. It is a tough ship, manouverable and has tough ablative armour.
USS Enterprise-E - The flagship of the Federation ship, a Sovereign Class captained by Jean-Luc Picard. Picard can order all allied vessels to target a specific vessel.
The Klingon Ships
NOTE - The Klingons don't have a big variety of ships available, however they have excellent weapons output and some of their ships come with cloaking devices. Not all of them however.
Nuq'Duj Class - Basic fighter/scout ship for the Klingons, equiped with a single forward firing Disruptor. Can Hunt for enemies.
Noq'Duj Class - Similar name, but different design, this ship carries powerful photon torpedoes, making this ship an excellent bomber, handy for taking out Mon Calamari Cruisers and Star Destroyers.
Qapla' Class Shuttle - Small Klingon shuttle that is rapid but has very weak shielding, kind of like the A-Wing.
D7 Class Battlecruiser - The classic Klingon Battlecruiser from the 1960's original series, this ship is now an anti-fighter vessel. If used right it can also take on other small corvettes and frigates, comes with the Power-to-weapons ability.
B'rel Class - The classic Klingon Bird of Prey. These ships can engage fighters but they are used best in big swarms against large frigates with their pulse Disruptors and Photon torpedoes and cloaking device. They can also raise their wings giving it a speed increase, at the cost of reduced weapons fire.
K't'inga Class - The upgraded version of the D7 class cruiser, slightly larger, stronger has a red Disruptor beam and can also fire torpedoes from the rear. Along with a cloaking device this vessel can also fire off a full volley of torpedoes.
K'Vort Class - The larger Bird of Prey variant with the wings pointing upwards as seen in TNG. This vessel is a little sluggish but has very powerful disruptor cannons and can fire torpedoes from the rear. Comes with power-to-weapons and a Cloaking device.
Fek'Lhr Class - Klingon science ship, can use a Weapon Energy Dissipator ability which greatly reduces damage done by the enemy's weapons. The Klingon death chant (based on Home One's concentrate fire ability) orders all allied ships to fire on the chosen target, whilst the death chant increases damage does increased damage. Fires disruptor beams and cannons.
Vor'cha Class - This ship will serve as the back-bone of your fleet as a well-rounded cruiser that deals considerable damage, not too expensive to produce and has a good variety of weapons including torpedoes, disruptor cannons and beams. It also comes with a cloaking device and Polaron torpedo abilty, designed to disable ships and hamper their systems.
Suq'Jagh Class - Carrier ship that can spawn many squadrons of fighters. Whilst it's more expensive and doesn't have as great firepower the ability to launch fighters more than makes up for these minor shortcomings.
Qeh'ral Class - The first type of Capital ship you gain access to, whilst it doesn't have a cloaking device it's weapons output more than makes up for this, as does it's Power-to-weapons ability.
Negh'Var Class - The most powerful vessel in the Klingon fleet, covered with many Disruptors and Torpedo launchers. The Negh'Var also comes with an Ion Cannon (based on the Proton beam) that deals considerable damage to enemy vessels.
Jach-Eng Class - Very expensive to produce, no weapons, weak shields and hull but all for a good reason. The ship can produce a sub-space shockwave that decimates enemy fleets and Starbases.
Hero Units
Captain Kurn - Commands a K'Vort class Bird of Prey.
Chancellor Gowron - Faction leader, so make sure you don't get him killed in battle as you will lose the game, even if it is a glorious death. He commands the IKS Bortas, a Vor'cha class cruiser.
General Martok - Commands a Negh'Var class, unlike the regular versions this one also has a cloaking device.
The Dominion Ships
NOTE - Cardassian ships are cheaper to build than Dominion ships, but don't have as strong shields and hull. The Dominion have a large range of units available, but plan your fleets carefully as it is very easy to reach the population cap.
Jem'Hadar Shuttle - Basic fighter shuttle, equiped with a single forward firing polaron beam. Can use Hunt ability.
Jem'Hadar Bomber - Carries Quantum Torpedoes for bombing runs on Starbases and Capital ships.
Peltast Class Shuttle - Small Cardassian shuttle that packs a surprising punch, the shuttle also comes with speed boost.
Hideki Class - Cardassian corvette, quick and cheap to build, good in swarms and comes with an anti-matter mine (based off Slave One's Seismic Charge)
Jem'Hadar Fighter - The infamous bug ship from DS9, quick, maneuverble, and deadly when operating in big swarms, but made of paper. The latter shortcoming however is made up for with it being able to Kamikaze
Railak Class - A light Cardassian frigate which is pretty nimble, has speed boost as well making it good for hit and run attacks, the AI will spam these early game.
Tonga Class - Old Cardassian cruiser from the Dominion Wars game, it has long-range plasma torpedoes allowing it to bombard targets, because the ship is old it is virtually made of paper.
Breen Cruiser - Not the same ship as seen in DS9 but a smaller version of it, it comes with Polaron Torpedoes allowing it to disable targets' abilities.
Jem'Hadar Chimera - A cruiser that operates as a utility vessel, utilising a sensor scrambler, sending the enemy's weapons go haywire.
Brinok Class - A Cardassian medium strength cruiser which can deploy drones (based on Armada II, they use the buzz droids).
Galor Class - The most recognisable Cardassian vessel, cheap to build in comparison with the Galaxy and Vorcha classes, but weaker. Nonetheless the AI will love to spam this unit, it also comes with a point defence phaser.
Breen Warship - This is the ship we all remember from DS9, it comes with Polaron torpedoes but also it's widely feared energy dissipator, which lowers the target's shields immediately, even if they are using shield boost (good for taking out Mon Calamari Cruisers).
Keldon Class - The second most recognised Cardassian vessel, and most remembered for it's involvement in that fateful attempted attack on the Founder's home world. Stronger than a Galor, also comes with an ability to overload its plasma banks (like in Star Trek Armada 2).
Jem'Hadar Battleship - The most powerful Dominion battle cruiser (until you get access to the Dreadnoughts), can boost power to weapons and has excellent coverage.
Hutet Class - Cardassian Dreadnought, comes with a missile jamming field and is covered from bow to stern in weapons. Not as powerful as the next ship, but cheaper and quicker to build and best used if you want to neutralise bombers.
Jem'Hadar Dreadnought - Very expensive to build, but well worth it. Comes armed to the teeth with Polaron Beams, Quantum torpedoes and can fire off full salvos. This will reduce enemies to wreckage very quickly, but ensure you protect it with anti-fighter escorts.
Hero Units
Gul Damar - Commands a Galor Class and drinks Kanar.
Thot Pran - Commands a Breen Warship.
Gul Dukat - He's not just any Cardassian! He commands a Keldon Class.
Weyoun - I'm relieved you find the death of his predecessor amusing... he commands a Jem'Hadar Battleship.
Female Changeling - You won't see her in a space battle, however her prescence on whatever planet you place her on reduces the cost of all units.
The Romulan Ships
NOTE - They ALL have cloaking devices but don't have good coverage and are rather weak defensively.
Talon Class - Basic scout fighter
Kestrel Class - Bomber
Tal'Veres Class - Interceptor, very fast but very fragile
Scorpion Class - Advanced fighter as seen in Star Trek Nemesis. You only get these at Tech Level 5
Snipe Class - TMP era Bird of Prey, as seen in SFC
Shrike Class - Fast, manoeuvrable anti-fighter corvette
Raptor Class - Long range cruiser, armed with Tri-cobalt torpedoes for long range pot-shotting
Hawk Class - Light Cruiser for early tech level usage
Drex'rk Class - Repair ship, only light armaments
Buzzard Class - Carrier cruiser for fighters
Griffin Class - Medium cruiser, comes with Sensor Jammer
Venator Class (not the Venator Star Destroyer) - Heavy cruiser, equivalent of Galaxy/Vor'cha/Galor/VSD
Shadow Class - Science ship, comes with boost ability for allied vessel shields
D'deridex Class - The Warbird, comes with Shield Inversion Beam
Valdore Class - As seen in Star Trek Nemesis, very good offensively and good speed, but it's a bit of a glass cannon
Hero Units
Commander Tomalak - An excellent way to get early access to a Warbird (he is accessed at Level 3 in skirmish mode, the normal Warbird is accessed at Level 4)
NOTE there are no voice files for Tomalak as of yet, so for now he has a standard Warbird voice.
Admiral Sela - Commands a tougher Warbird.
Commander Donatra - Commands the IRW Valdore.
Shinzon - Commands the Scimitar, which needs no introduction...
Additional Units
There are some additional units available from the capturable Hutt asteroid and Merchant dock, which can be summoned to assist you. I won't spoil the surprise for you...
Additional Units for Star Wars Factions
Being a fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek franchises, I decided to include a few additional units for the Star Wars factions;
Assault Frigate MK1 - Rebels
Mon Calamari MC40 Cruiser - Rebels
Dreadnaught Cruiser - Imperials
Venator Star Destroyer - Imperials
Providence Destroyer - Zann Consortium

Enjoy!
Well done on this excellent milestone Kavok, I'm exited to see what ground units will be incorporated into this.
I played about an hour into a GC as the Federation, and this mod seems very well built. congratulations on your progress. there was one probably important problem, and that would be that the AI is inactive. they dont do anything. but other than that, Its a very good mod.
Is AI supposed to work? Might have installed it wrong...
Nevermind, I'm dumb. It's working great!
Love the weapon effects!
Actually, the AI has been quite annoying to configure.
What's the name of this supposed to be for Steam launch instruction purposes?
The name to use for Steam should be "trek_wars".
I installed it, but for some reason, the UFP, Klingon, romulan (you get the idea, NONE of the extras) are showing up. Please help.
Hello Captain_Kavok I adoreiiiii your mod the best like I've ever seen
more but he's giving some errors such as when we play with (IA) the pc in helping in the multiplayer, he of the error (not responding) on windows and sometimes the sync error that can be bug in the mod? If it is please get in other releases:) or help me what can be?
Some issues I've noticed: The Dominion space station doesn't have a Communications Array hardpoint, this leads to enemy units and stations not showing up on the minimap.
I've also noticed that jumping in the Son'A Battleship that you can buy from Hutt Asteroid Bases causes the framerate to go down massively. I had it drop from about 60 to 4 each time spawned that ship.
Uhh in the installation it says to use a mod pack launcher but i'm using steam.

I seem to be having problems: I installed the mod, but only the stock three are popping up. If I ****** up, please tell me how to fix it. If a personal PM won't work, please make a 'how-to-install-awesome-mod-for-morons' article.
Self-depreciating, maybe, but it's the truth.
Your download button is broken or a hacker got it.
Don't be a bloodless paht'k!

I am having a crash just before I can get past the main menu and play the mod how do I fix this?
Hey, the mod is really good, the weapon effect, the ships. Of course it will be better with time, and change these "MISSING" into names.
I've only problem, the IA is not working, i mean on every space battle i try, they do nothing, no one. Is it normal or i have to do something ?
