Total Chaos is a total conversion mod for Doom 2 that runs on the GZDoom source port. The mod is a survival horror set on a remote island known as Fort Oasis. The island was once run by a community of coal miners which one day suddenly disappeared, leaving behind the abandoned concrete jungle to waste away.
Something, clearly, has gone very wrong with this place. Upon your arrival at Fort Oasis, you receive a strange radio transmission. Someone wants to be found. Survive in 6 chapters, against over 8 horrifying fiends with a large assortment of weapons. The mod with the assistance of the source ports introduces many new graphical features, including 3D models and high resolution textures.

Something, clearly, has gone very wrong with this place. Upon your arrival at Fort Oasis, you receive a strange radio transmission. Someone wants to he found. The further you travel into the concrete jungle, the more the situation ends up unraveling, and where you were heading is no longer clear. Find letters scattered around the world and uncover the mystery of what happened.

Explore the island of Fort Oasis in 6 chapters. In these chapters you will fight through apartments, utility tunnels, shopping centers, before reaching the city center and the mines that await you.
In every chapter, you will encounter new and even more horrifying creations. Each one processing their own unique attack patterns. Learning these is vital to surviving the oncoming onslaught.
Use anything you can find on the island to fight against the forces of evil. There are guns, but ammo for them is incredibly hard to come by. You will mostly be relying on tireirons, pickaxes, shivs and garden tools. Most of these can be crafted and some can be upgraded to wield more powerful blows.

Today I'm revealing some stuff a friend and I have been working on in sort of secret for the last couple of years. A remaster of Total Chaos is indeed in the works, and is using the Unreal Engine 5.
Here is how it is shaping up!

No announcements for release dates at this time (still a couple years away), however the game will be dropping as its own standalone package.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. How the hell did the dev team figure out how to make mods in the GZDOOM/Zandronum engine look so ******* good?
"You will need Doom 2 to be able to play the mod (...)"

Just for the Alpha/Beta stages, once we finalize the assets we'll aim to make it run without the need of an IWAD :)
Any Doom mod still requires a IWAD to work.
I strongly believe you will be able to run it with FreeDoom.
I mean... Does this mod use ANY asset provided with IWAD from original Doom 2/FreeDoom? Because I see it kinda pointless, looking at the screens/videos of the game. I know how work the GZDoom/Zandronum ports but don't tell me it would be difficult to force (or at least fool) the engine to not require it (like Action Doom 2).
Of course I follow it and I will try for myself when it come out, but still, it feels silly to use original Doom 2 IWAD as base.
hat mods can be that great
Well, I have officially lost all hope in this mod ever being released...
Mods take more than a few months to finish, especially one of this magnitude.
ITS BACK :D
I love the GZDoom engine, best port ever this mod is going to be Awesome!.
