Total Chaos is a total conversion mod for Doom 2 that runs on the GZDoom source port. The mod is a survival horror set on a remote island known as Fort Oasis. The island was once run by a community of coal miners which one day suddenly disappeared, leaving behind the abandoned concrete jungle to waste away. Something, clearly, has gone very wrong with this place. Upon your arrival at Fort Oasis, you receive a strange radio transmission. Someone wants to be found.

Why is this version is 1GB smaller? I'm intrigued...

Wadaholic.wordpress.com
"The majority of the stutters have been greatly reduced! Along with this (thanks to texture compression), the file size of the mod has been reduced by over 1GB in filesize.

If you had troubles running the mod due to memory usage, the next update might be worth checking out."

I was one of the people with not enough RAM so this update finally made it playable for me!

Not this one, won't be coming until the expansion content lands sometime in March next year.

Hello wadaholic.

I have a problem with this current version. When I move the mouse left and right it looks like vsync is kinda broken. I have it turned on in the options but I still get some screen tearing. I did not have this problem with v0.97.4

I tried forcing vsync in my graphic card controls panel and it worked but the TC then also ran very poorly.

Is there anything I could do to fix this?

Regards,
Berzerk

It may be one of the post processing shaders causing havoc. Try turning them off via Post Processing in options to see if that solves it.

I think I figured it out. Seems that it is multisampling that will cause the problem. When you set it to anything higher than 8 screen tearing will happen even with vsync active. Not sure if that is a problem with the TC or with GZDoom.

Is there any chance of getting this on Steam? I've seen other mod get put on steam, but usually they are using the source engine, so maybe there are different rules?

Good patch but there seems to be a bug where most of the cooked food except for army rations disappear when dropped on the floor. I noticed this in the last version as well.

Seems I'm having a bit of trouble getting this going. As soon as I hit 'New Game', the client crashes. I've extracted the game to its own directly and not messed with any settings. I have a crash report on standby if you need it.

Do you have any hints on how to play your mod on an iMac with GZDoom g3.4.1?
