wow! that's just incredible... the atmosphere, mapdesign, scripts, colours, the theme - the hud elements (if in a video, or the questionsmarks) the music, especially the one starting in at the end, all the custom stuff fits so well together. that's all awesome... really good stuff! can't wait to play it :)
Interesting.
Cool cant wait to play :D
The the first room and camera angles look very similar to Halo 1. Quality work though, can't wait to play it.
I've tried watching it like 5 times and it just won't load. :/
Well i like it, but the Level Design and the atmosphere reminds me of the good old Half-life mods :)
I am looking forward to see more results ;)
Very cool. :)
I think you've done an extraordinary job with this!
But it somehow makes me think that you remade the space-map from jailbreak to a full mod ;)
Finally managed to watch it xD, Amazing textures!
I noticed you spelt "inaccessible" wrong in the little hud message. Call me pedantic :P
Not at all, it's a good spot. I've fixed it now, thanks for the mention!
Ok what i like, the colors the map geometry, lighting, texture work, some of the voices, mission flow and the music.
What i don't like, The voice of the Captain it sounds fake, that you are in space in the future and directions are written on the walls with paint!!, i know that you guys are trying to be different but IMO you should use holographic images for that, stay canon, if you are on the future make futuristic stuff. This also takes me to my next critic, why do you still need a normal wrench to solve problems on a future space ship, and you solve them by beating stuff with it!, please go that extra mile and make a "using it" animation for the wrench, this will make your mod look even more professional and guys if you are bent on using a wrench IMO you should model some futuristic looking wrench at lest. My last critic, is more personal taste then anything, but i don't like the small ha's! and Hum's! that the player character makes, IMO you should stick to the voiceless HL2 stile is more immerssive that way.
Why i'm being so picky? Because you guys have the talent to be a great mod/indie team and need some constructive Criticism to become even better, talking about only the good stuff will not help you on the long run.
Thanks for the critiques buddy there very much appreciated. Please, be aware that (other than the voice team) it is ONLY me working on this project, and as such I have a fairly limited skillset, which includes the inability to create complex animations as per your suggestion.
The written directions your referring to, are part of the background story/universe. The story of Titan: XCIX is set on a ship that is not Human in origin, it was donated to them by the race known as the Vaedrans (the characters with mottled necks) as such the vast majority of the onboard UI is written in older Vaedran dialects (well it's actually Aurek-Besh but you get the point). So not only are the directions written in English in order for the player to find himself around, but for other Human crew members who probably haven't been brushing up on there Universal Vaedran. So in summary ... it's actually very much in cannon and mentioned within the story by some of the NPC's.
As for the wrench being so rooted to reality, that was an absolute concious decision. My opinion is that a wrench is a wrench dependent on if you go back a hundred years or forward another. My original intention was to create a futuristic super wrench, but by doing that i'm also making another job in having to make it do futuristic things which as I have already pointed out is beyond my means. The wrench in fact an actual wrench from my IRL tool set.
Finally for the "ha's" and "hums" ... well ... i could of left them out, and up until recently I was using a rather obnoxious "plinky" sound, but I thought it would be nice to give myself a voice role in the mod, to have my voice nestled in there, so there ya go. I like to think it gives the Technician a little more character, and makes the environment a little more alive.
Thanks for your comment, but as a said earlier it is only me working on this project and any decisions as far as sound, or art design are concerned are all purposeful and thoroughly thought out.
Ok i thought it was a bigger team working on this mod, has is only you then it changes everything for me, i should say that you did a fantastic job for a one man army, congratulations.
excellent mapping and textures
Perfect example of what to do when you don't want to make new props.
Excellent brushwork, I love it!
Judging from the comments it's good.
Well, I won't watch it, as I want to find out myself... :D
Wow, I remember when you started this mod and the visual quality was quite low but now HOLY **** that some epic visual quality!
Nice Half life reference " just another one of those days, huh."
Well, except for a few minor inconveniences, such as a typo here and there, certain voice actors who shouldn't be there at all... Well, this looks quite good. I like it!
very cool. looks interesting. good work :)
