Project leadership Eric Chou (GeneralJist) & Matt Ross (Fandore) will be attending GDC, the world renown game developers conference.
I was gifted 2 free passes (All Access +VRDC & Main Conference) from the chief Administrator Khawk, of gamedev.net, a game development hub I frequent.
Fandore is flying in from Louisiana, and we will be there all week.
We will be meeting with many of the game development contacts we made throughout the years, from indie to Industry. This will include chief of our platform, moddb/ indiedb, etc. Scott Reismanis (INtense!), our lawyer, and some former C&C devs, most prominently, Louis Castle.
The "All Access" pass also grants me access to GDC Vault, videos / recordings of current and past featured sessions at GDC, which I'll be working on extending to the full team if possible.
Our Business cards:
This will be the 1st time we meet in person since we started this project ~6 years ago.
If you happen to be in the SF bay area, come out and see us. (PM or email me)
Anyone who gets a business card and emails us that week or the week after, will get Closed testing for the lifetime of the project. (even if your not from the conference)
if you meet us at the conference, please put "GDC 2017" in the title line, and briefly summarize our interaction for our records. If your not from the conference, just summarize the conversation. (That goes a long way)
As long as you can prove to us you still have one of our business cards, your closed testing will continue. (Unless your a former C&C dev, which in that case you automatically get closed testing.)
I know most of our community will not be able to make it, so if you have any questions or comments for any of the former C&C devs, or EA, feel free to put them in the comments.
Wish us luck!
Fandore has already said, that after he's recovered from the flood and gets up and running, he expects it to take us 2 months to get the Closed Alpha out.
Thanks again so much to everyone at Gamedev.net, yall made our dream a reality.
We have a great community, because:
