This modification offers an alternative gameplay to Tiberian Wars involving many Tiberian Sun units which many CnC fans (like me) missing in vanilla CNC3 and add even new my made units which you can't find anywhere else. Story is quite the same like Tiberian Wars, but is all about what if GDI and Nod do not abandon technologies they have used in Tiberian Sun era and instead of that further developed them. But it's not only that, there are many visual, sound and balance changes which I want to see and hear in my mod, new sounds, new music, new effects (like blood and gore, new infantry deaths, new more realistic missile trails) and many more.

I suppose then this will cover a role similar to the Hammerhead in KW, right? How many squads will it be able to carry? Two?

Also, will the Scrin Gunship have firing ports as well?

Overall, great job at brining the ORCA family back!

unfortunately 1 squad limit must be applied here too because of cnc3 engine bug that sometimes prevent multiple squads inside transport disembark.

A big balance issue is the minigun upgrade. It should be replaced with something else (ceramic armour for example) or at least it should be downgraded (noo AA and need to reload like missiles) because doesn't need to reload and gives insane AA ability for units that don't need to, making jumpjet and firehawks less useful. AI tend to spam orca fighters with minigun to counter enemy venoms/stormriders instead to use specific AA units. Basically orca fighters can do everything now.

also should say that this will replace ox and his green box and will be produced on airfield but also summoned with call for transport ability (i have just use to it) but you will actually buy this unit that way so it will not flee from map after unloading its cargo.
Same for caryall anounced in previous update.

Another matter is its name. Orca transport its not bad, but right now its everything orca - fighter, bomber, caryall and i think we have just too much orca here and that is not really so cool.

So any suggestion regarding new original name for this unit?

You know what. I wouldn't change the naming convention on this transport. OX class Orca Transport or simply Ox Transport.

Orca transport is best unit ever. I personally think that it does not need a rename as with lore, everything in the GDI airforce was an orca.

It can't carry vehicles? That's a bummer, unless you've replaced the Ox Transport with this

Looks awesome, but I hope that the Carryall is still used for vehicles.
Moddb.com

Also, what's wrong with almost everything being Orca tech'? GDI is quite standardized, and Orca tech' is very versatile, so it makes sense that it would be used in many various roles. Besides, 'Orca Transport' is another nice homage to Westwood and Tib' Sun. ;)

If we're to rename them all...

Orca transport: Bull
Orca Carryall: Bison

Orca Fighter: Orca (original aircraft, so no change is needed)
Orca Bomber: Beluga

I think this would fit with the naming theme.

I agree with ABP_ICE, the Orca name may be overused, but it does suit the aircraft.
Pretty much I agree fully with that dude, I vote its name stays the same.

while working for Tiberian eclipse, we considered using Kodiak as the same class designations for heavy units, so Kodiak Command vehicle, Kodiak Battle cruiser, Kodiak support vehicle, Kodiak heavy transport were just a few ideas

Wait... but the Kodiak was a named vehicle... It was GDI's sub orbital command hub...

People used Orca Gunships in Kanes Wrath when there were Hammer Heads available. Orca's are designed to do incredibly heavy damage to ground vehicles as is. This Unit is ideally a transport with a way to defend itself

I concur, I like this unit concept, essentially an airborne APC for ferrying around infantry quickly on the battlefield. It should provide SOME decent protection against machine gun fire, but I wouldn't want to take it anywhere near SAM batteries or any units with antiaircraft missile and/or AAA capability.

Orca units naming conventions could be redone by naming them after their class of chassis rather then their direct combat role but their chassis could be named something that would at the same time resemble the role it does. Like i stated in an other comment.

Orca transport could have an official title being the Ox Class Orca transport. Ox class being the type of aircraft it actually is. Orca being the series it is and Transport is role so you could theoretically keep the name Ox Transport. Saves you doing work in reworking audio files and such too.

Something like the Orca Fighter just stays Orca or Orca Gunship since the Orca itself is technically a gunship and has never changed that role and it sticks to it being the origin of the Orca series.

You did the Condor unit after the Orca Concept art and it could be Condor Class Orca Support Aircaft or something else in its official paperwork or back story or what not.

With a naming convention like this you can give the Aircaft unique names and acknowledge them being in the Orca series at the same time so they feel more fleshed out.

It's something to consider your naming of Orca units by.

I just thought up of a name the Orca bomber could have. Beluga seems too tame for me. Figured Narwhal would be the better of the two. Besides. No one feels safe around Narwhals or Orca Bombers. Naming The bomber Narwhal Class Orca Bomber would just make people on the ground on both sides a fair bit uneasy

It also dawned on me the fact that Bison and Oxen could be used for the names of the carryall and transports. Bison and Oxen are both animals that have been used to transport people and materials for the longest times. So Bison Class Orca Carryall would work and Ox Class Orca Transport still works.

If you really wanted to go out of your way. You could make a model of the transport that has the carryall lift system and not the transport bay but that drops a little of the TS feel but does save you work for name entries, unit entries and so on.

Again. More options to consider that follow the naming convention I just whipped up.

Rhino transport / bull transport
....
...... got it!

"PELICAN TRANSPORT"
big bird, also not smooth and slick like any other bird, does not fly to fast, AND ABLE TRANSPORT THINGS =D
oh and it can swim... with Orcas...

Pelican sounds awfully familiar. Like a Big Green ugly looking lifter transport from an other franchise...

I kid but yeah. Something that sounds like that for the aircraft

Rhino or Bull transport sounds better suited for ground units to be honest. Generally so do OX and Bison but CNC3 did use the Ox for an airborne transport.
