Engineer

Rifleman
Riflemen have access to advanced Composite armor suits or Tiberium field suits that provide them with better protection. On the battlefield, they maintain their fitness by doing push ups.

Missile Squad
The Missile Squad's soldiers wear standard GDI combat armor, which can be upgraded to composite armour suits. Their helmets are modified with optical sights that allow them to aim the rocket launcher with precision.

Grenadier Squad
Due to the weight of the packs, the grenadiers usually exercise on the battlefield by performing jumping jacks and practice tossing their grenades around. With the advances in technology, the grenades no longer explode if they are not primed for detonation, despite the cowering of their handlers, should they accidentally drop them.

Sniper Team
The team wears battledress uniforms and camouflage hats. They don't wear armor, as it would limit their mobility and increase their chances of being seen. When stationary, they go prone.

Zone Trooper

ZOCOM Commando (Can only build one)
Backed by 50 years of tradition, they are the results of a powerful training program, with a 22% fatality rate and a 97% drop-out rate for the survivors (even after starting with the very best of the best in all branches of service). Typically, only one commando at a time will be allotted to a commander due to the high expense of equipping one, and in addition to the scarcity of such elite graduates.

Zone Defender
The Zone Defender is the heir to the GDI Missile Squad, specializing against aircraft with dual rocket launchers and using a variant of Advanced Armour.

Zone Enforcer
Wearing heavy suits of Advanced Armour and carrying automatic triple-barreled chainguns belt-fed from a back-mounted ammunition case, the Enforcers are the first line of defense against lightly armoured threats and infantry. Their suit has an overhead lamp mounted.

Zone Lancer
The Zone Lancer is GDI's laser-bearing infantryman who is a true threat to heavy armor, and can target aircraft like much of the current generation of technology. It excells at killing heavy armor, but it has difficulty against other infantry and light armor. It is vulnerable to gun-based attacks. The Zone Lancer can also deploy into a laser platform, increasing range and damage.

Zone Trooper - II
Although in the Third Tiberium War the Zone Trooper was the pinnacle of GDI Infantry, their role has diminished over the last few years due to advances in Advanced Armour technology. The AW-2 Zone Trooper is now the mainline infantryman of the Global Defense Initiative, equipped with a cannon-based weapon.

Zone Raider
Although the previous generation Zone Raider was quite effective, it was evolved to fit the next generation of warfare, and received an overhaul by GDI. Most of them are still women, as a footnote, and can be seen doing ballet moves while idle. (This is most likely to check the balance of their armor)

Zone Captain (Can only build three)
Zone Captains are the leaders of GDI's Zone Infantry in the field. They are equipped with laser designators, which can call down an ion strike from one of GDI's orbital weapons platforms to wipe out massed ground units and entire structures.
