Hello, Ladies & Gentlemen! This is going to be a very brief announcement due-to my lack of time at the moment so I will get straight to the point: I would like to inform you all that Twisted Insurrection now has an official page on Steam.
This is very long overdue, but Twisted Insurrection will now be regularly updated over on Steam as well as our many other pages around the web! Steam is a great place to keep up with all of the latest updates and gives you a good opportunity to take advantage of the free Steam group chat function and to arrange games with other plays too, especially if you link the Twisted Insurrection launcher to your Steam Library!
So what are you waiting for? If you have a Steam account, go and join our group!
Do you mean we will be able to update TI to beta 5 from Steam after its release if it is added in Steam Library?
Well it wouldn't automatically update without asking you first. Adding TI to your library works the same way as a normal desktop shortcut does. I will look into getting complete support on Steam, but even though TS and TI are both free, there are likely going to be legal issues. I'd have to contact EA first.
Thanks for all the great work. BTW, are you able to make the game save skirmish settings? It's a kind of annoying that you need to set it every time.
I contacted EA about making TS Mobile with no profit, that it is going to be a mobile game by the fans for the fans. Even tho it was going to be F2P they advised me not to do unless I want to have a nice chit-chat with there lawyers.
So I think this would be the same with TI and other CnC F2P Game's.
Have fun.
EA = Origin
Although it would be awesome if you could download TS:TI directly in one package from steam.
One thing I have learned in my life is that it never hurts to simply ask. If I ask the right questions, then it could very well be a possibility.
Even though EA = Origin and not Steam, C&C3, KW, RA3, Uprising and C&C4 are all available on Steam, so I don't see why putting something available for download on another platform would be such a big deal, especially when it's extremely outdated.
EA still own the rights to TS, even if they have declared it freeware, but we'll see what happens. I will have a talk with them and see what exactly it is that I am and am not allowed to do in terms of distribution.
I will never, ever ask anybody to pay for TI. It will and always will be free.
Fun as it may sound, won't this require you put in a whole lot more regular effort into the thing?
It's no different from updating Facebook, so it's really not that much extra work. Public relations and keeping everybody updated is something that I am very good at maintaining.
Awesome. I'll track it on my Steam ACCT.
Hopefully you will be able to get it on greenlight, and clear the who copy right issue thing ;)
