Thrawn's Revenge is a large-scale mod for Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. It includes the events of the Galactic Civil War after Palpatine's death at Endor, up until the signing of the Pellaeon-Gavrisom treaty. If you own the Steam version of EaW, you will have to complete extra steps to run the mod after installation. Please see the manual for these steps.

2018 has been a pretty big year for Thrawn's Revenge, with the release of Imperial Civil War 2.2, the start of the Ascendancy beta, some early looks at Fall of the Republic and the beginnings of 2.3, and we hope to make 2019 even better. For this news post, we just wanted to take a quick look at what's to come.

First, we want to thank everyone for their support in Mod of the Year. We didn't really do much to promote it this year, but thanks to your votes we still managed to pull out a 4th place finish for Imperial Civil War as well as Honourable Mentions for Ascendancy and Fall of the Republic after their respective 2nd and 3rd place finishes in previous years. In 2019, we'll plan to have a bit more happen around that time.

Imperial Civil War in 2019

Imperial Civil War 2.2 included a lot of the groundwork for things we'll be doing in 2.3, where we've been doing a lot of work to improve the "empire management" aspects of the galactic map, the economy, combat mechanics both on land and in space, and adding a new playable faction, the Corporate Sector Authority. Each of these aspects will receive further fleshing out in their own news posts, but as usual if you would like to see the changes as they take shape, I'll be doing preview playthroughs as we go on Corey Loses. Right now, the Corporate sector Authority playthrough is going on with some early looks at new systems, as well as showcasing their new roster.

Ascendancy in 2019

While we started the Star Wars: Thrawn's Revenge II: Ascendancy beta at the end of the year with the intention of getting the new version out by early January, Stardock surprised us with the release of what is quite possibly the best expansions Sins has ever received, Minor Factions. Right now, on top of finishing and polishing the 1.1.6 release features as initially planned, we're also working to figure out which ways we'll take advantage of the new content, meaning some minor factions will be included with the full 1.1.6 release, so we'll have another news post coming soon with exactly what you can expect to come now, and some early looks at what will come in later releases.

Fall of the Republic in 2019

2019 should also see the first release of our Clone Wars era mod for Empire at War, Fall of the Republic: Thrawn's Revenge III . There's still a fair bit of work to do, but with ICW and FotR being developed off of the same systems, we have a lot of the work in place to do an initial release that shouldhopefully scratch people's Clone Wars itch while we continue to flesh it out with more content in future releases, the same way we've done with ICW. Our goal is basically to get the core ground, space and hero rosters, as well as some basic story elements and GCs in place, release that for testing and feedback, and build on that with 1.0. While it's not ready for full playthrough previews quite yet, I have done two videos, one for each faction, which you can check out below:

Hopefully that has you looking forward to the future of Thrawn's Revenge. There may even be some other stuff to talk about in the not-too-distant future as well. Thanks for all the support in 2018, we hope we continue to earn it this year.

Indeed I am, also the CSA has my favorite roster in the mod, a nice mix from various factions and some unique stuff of their own mixed in, all they need are Gozantis for landing troops and they will be completely unique, only think I don't like is the Ion Cannon Vs the HV Gun, also I think that AI Zsinj shouldn't be allowed to build one on Dathomir because otherwise with Iron Fist parked over it it's near impossible to take, the battle for Dathomir has relegated any planet with an HV gun to Fighter spam fleets and cheap throw away fleets, I'm not taking any heroes near that mess, not even fighter heroes, other then that I'm hyped for the next Release I think the CSA offers a lot of new stuff for the table also I hope Corey's next playthrough showcases their specific scenario where he plays as the Imperial Remnant and tries to prevent the death of Grand Admiral Makati that is case of interesting match up waiting to happen also it would be a GC where the Imperial Remnent isn't lead by one of their traditional leaders

I think instead of having an Imperial Star Destroyer as a late game ship for the republic it should be the Secutor Star Destroyer, it was built and produced earlier than the ISD and fits the time period better since it was made just before the rise of the empire.
