Thrawn's Revenge is a large-scale mod for Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. It includes the events of the Galactic Civil War after Palpatine's death at Endor, up until the signing of the Pellaeon-Gavrisom treaty. If you own the Steam version of EaW, you will have to complete extra steps to run the mod after installation. Please see the manual for these steps.

pls no
I had my final today and the only thing that kept me alive during learning was the knowledge I could play Thrawn's Revenge 2.2
I hope you find the problem soon and release it earlier than expected.

The one thing I looked forward to was this mod D:

"You've failed us for the last time Admiral Corey" - Lord Vader.

Oh yes, I'm aware. I'm not angry.

I'd rather have them polish the mod up & take the time they needed than experience untold number of crashes. It's just unfortunate, that is all.

We've waited for an age for the new release, no harm in waiting another two little weeks, esepcially if it means that the game will be stable.
As long as its ready on Thursday then I'm happy!

"I personally blame those gas giants for the delays. What was supposed to be a 60 minute trip turns into a several month trip because those things are just so large to go around. You can't blow them up with your superlaser because they're stupid gas giants. Then just when you're about to get there, a whole bunch X-wings show up and then you've got explosions all over yourself. I swear if I ever have to go around a gas giant again it'll be far too soon" - Deathstar quote... probably.

Take your time folks. The mod's demo is already really freaking good.

I have a little bit of free time. Will see if I can get access to the beta and help out with testing.

Good luck finding a fix. I was driven to absolute despair when the NJO mod was crashing and I couldn't find out why - such a nice feeling to fix it

Take your time please, but this is really the reason I hate release dates for mods. If you are not 100% the mod is going to come out on that day, then just don't make a release date. Anyways, hope you fix the problem.

That's why when we announced it we said it can change. Considering this only became evident less than a week before release, we likely still would have announced the same release date this time last week, unless you're suggesting the first indication that something is coming up should be literally the second it gets uploaded.

A game developer doesn't put a release date on a game and say it might change (at least not that I've seen). I don't know, that's just my opinion. Release dates should never change. If they do, then whats the point of them?

I hope you fix your problem. I've been dying to play your mod.

EDIT: Also, are these problems happening on Steam too? Just curious.

All of the testing is currently being done on Steam.

Also, games and movies get moved or delayed all the time. We've delayed it far less than most "official" releases, and game developers have access to all the tools they need to edit a game, we do not.

More importantly, if we just released as soon as it was done and never gave any indication of when that would be, we'd just break everyone's saves in a complete surprise when we did update, and that'd be a pretty ****** thing of us to do.

People have asked for years "when is it going to be out." As soon as we were reasonably sure, we said when that would be, and we put the caveat that it could change a bit. That's life.

I still disagree, but because I don't want this to be a week long conversation, let's just agree to disagree :). Good luck on finding your problem.

A little disheartening to hear this, HOWEVER that stupid save game crash has plagued me in so many mods; usually when I'm loading a save game more than anything. If there's one team who I believe can finally squash this game-breaking issue it's you guys. Best of luck to you! People may complain (myself included ;P) but save game crashes would really make any game unplayable. So once again, I'm wishing you the best and here's hoping you guys can get this problem fixed!

So the savegame crash issue has reached this mod as well I see.

Out of the 6+ mods I use including the 2.2 Demo Thrawn's Revenge was so far the one almost without any savegame problems or even just "normal" CTD issues. I had maybe 2 regular CTDs in 2.1 in three years and just one savegame crash ever with it.

It happening across several mods does indicate a deeper source (just like the unit-selection bug) though and destroyed savegames especially of a big GC can be a true fun killer so it is reasonable to look into it before a release.

Hopefully you'll be able to pinpoint the cause or at least find a workaround for it that works.
The delay would then more than just worth it.

Description

Unfortunately, while most of the testing process has been going very smoothly and we've made a lot of headway, some people have started to report save crashes in the beta, so in the interest of making sure the mod is as stable as possible, we have decided to move back release by two weeks to April 12th in order to try to look into it more. We will continue running the beta off of our forums for the time being, so those who do want to help test can do so there.

We're sorry for the delay, but we want to make sure once the release happens, it's as good and smooth as we can make it.
