Thrawn's Revenge is a large-scale mod for Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. It includes the events of the Galactic Civil War after Palpatine's death at Endor, up until the signing of the Pellaeon-Gavrisom treaty. If you own the Steam version of EaW, you will have to complete extra steps to run the mod after installation. Please see the manual for these steps.

The one thing I would try if at all possible, is to put the turrets on the top of the building somewhere. Because on some maps that turret would have to shoot through the barracks to hit enemies on the other side.

Would make more sense if they were mounted somewhere on top so they can shoot all the way around, again like the orc turrets lol

Part of the problem here is from damage alts. As the buildings degrade, the turrets would typically have to move, which can't be done.

Couldn't you just make it taller? Like a watchtower? Barracks usually have those...

something that can be done is to watch where to put the building, so it does not need to fire into itself

its not like we can move them around, they are in set slots. Most custom maps we can't even choose what slots to put them in.

yes I know, what I mean is to put the slot on the right position in the map making process...

That's a cool idea! At least now the buildings won't be completely defenseless on their own.

are you going to add more troops to the Penta and EOTH Garissons?

Nice, I've always hated how difficult it was to protect a building when you need to have troops somewhere else. Can't always have a group of people to sit there and babysit the barracks.

This is going to make things a lot more fun indeed.

Personally, I think that EaW needs an actual base model and not just factories. I use some worlds as factories but my front line worlds usually consist of barracks, shields, and turbo lasers. Its always been silly to me how ground troops and tanks re-spawned from their build factories. Maybe having a vehicle garage or base structure that spawns x amounts of certain units? "T4B Garage, T2B garage".

Hey! So I was wondering when I create new factions and want to give them build structures they will build the structure but it will cause a gamebreaking bug! (this is not related to Thrawn's Revenge, but let's say I wanted to make bug free buildings like what you guys do for the N'Zoth , Pentastar, and Ascendancy)

Description

Alongside the Warlords themselves, 2.2 will have a bunch of other changes. One of these changes is something I'm working on (which will also be used by Bullet in AotR) is adding static defense turrets to base buildings. Here's the Imperial barracks with a standard AI turret built in.

These will be present as targetable hardpoints on the buildings, similar to the Underworld palace. 2.2 in general will have a lot more hardpoint representation on ground.
