Thrawn's Revenge is a large-scale mod for Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. It includes the events of the Galactic Civil War after Palpatine's death at Endor, up until the signing of the Pellaeon-Gavrisom treaty. If you own the Steam version of EaW, you will have to complete extra steps to run the mod after installation. Please see the manual for these steps.

Celebrating 5 Awesome ModDB Content Creators who contribute, support, and embolden their own modding scenes!

Posted by on

Hey everyone - today we’ve got a very different editorial for you, one where we draw attention to five notable content creators that help promote the work of others within the community and meanwhile build their own contributions within ModDB’s ecosystem. Each of them were selected for dedication to the site in their respective modding scene and were also given a promotional ModDB shirt of their very own (seen on myself below!)

ModDB Shirt

LambdaGeneration - Numerous - Half-Life/Valve

Our first creator is LambdaGeneration, a Half-Life and Valve news community that has, for over a decade, promoted the work of modders great and small. Whether through trailers, mod streams, weekly roundups or dedicated deep-dive videos, LambdaGeneration has done a great job spreading the news about new works in the community, and their website provides a forum for fans of Valve to share work and common interests. We’ve also partnered up with them this year to deliver LambdaBuilds, a set of curated mapping competitions with some nifty prizes to be had! Stay tuned for more news on that as we wrap up the first competition at the end of March.

Corey - Thrawn’s Revenge - Empire At War

Thrawn’s Revenge is a name synonymous with Empire at War modding and thus, so is CoreyLoses - the lead developer behind Thrawn’s Revenge and a number of other high-profile Star Wars modding projects. Having used ModDB for many years and with a variety of MOTY awards under his belt, Corey continues to deliver top-notch Star Wars content year in and year out, in addition to covering Star Wars gaming news more broadly.

Hostile Takeover

Produno - A World of Ice and Fire - Mount & Blade: Warband

Warband has no shortage of Total Conversion-scale mods vying for space, but even in this very competitive environment, A World of Ice and Fire is a standout example of what it really means to be a total conversion. Expanding the game into the Game of Thrones franchise, Produno’s work has also begun to crossover into the newest entry in the M&B lineup, Bannerlord, and meanwhile, he has done more than a few of his own spotlights of other Mount & Blade mods to keep an eye on. When you’re at the top, it’s commendable to spread the love, and that’s just what Produno does and has done for years. In the mean time, Produno also has his eyes set on the indie scene as a new avenue for him and his team to explore.

Harrisonfog - SWBF2: Remastered - SWBF2 (2005)

Battlefront is a Star Wars franchise close to a lot of gamers’ hearts, making a splash in the early 2000s and being revived (with varying levels of success) by EA in 2015 and 2017. However, modders like Harrisonfog prove you can not only teach an old dog new tricks, but give him a fresh coat too. The game has never looked better, and in an age where servers for the game are patchy, a dedicated conquest server ensures there’s always somewhere to wage war in the galaxy far far away.

Vengeful'Vadam - Halo 2: Uncut (and more) - Halo: MCC

Although Halo: CE has long had a home on ModDB, the MCC modding scene did not always consider ModDB that hub of activity. Vengeful Vadam, however, always made the effort to keep his work on ModDB as updated as elsewhere, with his signature projects like Reach: Evolved and Halo 2: Uncut both making their way to ModDB. He and others have set a fantastic example for their peers, in what is becoming a gradual - but satisfying - renaissance for Halo modding on ModDB.

That rounds up our editorial. Thanks again for the continued contributions of these five content creators! Of course, there are many other very talented makers out there - so keep it up! You might be the next feature in an article like this one.

Corey my dude. Been following Thrawn's Revenge mod since its 1.2 version I think, which was something like 10 years ago (holy ****!).
And 10 years later Thrawn's Revenge team is still there. Simply beyond amazing.
