"They Hunger: The Pre-Sequel" (ex. "Rockwell Guard") takes part between the 2nd and the 3rd parts of the original trilogy. It starts meanwhile the fire in Rivendale Asylum and shows events till the end of the first night of the original story.
The mod is about a soldier which squad was one of the first who landed on the country side of Rockwell town to fight zombies. The squad has been destroyed and the main character was the only one who stayed alive. The only mission now is to outlast this nightmare. Trying to reach other survived squads he discovers what's happened in Rockwell. It seems he has to try to stop those who's guilty all this mess.
features:
Classic atmosphere:
- almost no new resources (only existing textures, weapons, monsters, npcs and models).
- level design is similar to TH style.
The plot is very close to original trilogy:
- Travel through known places:
- Rivendale Asylum.
- Dr. Franklin's mansion.
- Rockwell town.
- Rockwell hospital.
- Water Pumping Station.
- Meeting with known characters:
- Sheriff Rockwood.
- Dr. Franklin (this character is shown at the moment of robotization).
- The writer (the main character of the original trilogy. When he's in faint state).
- Deputy Jerry Hoobs (the chopper dude).
- Alfred.
Mod Length:
Trying to make full chapter for they hunger story. So it's length will be as the second part of the original trilogy.

Hello, I'm interested in this mod, really and I can't wait for it to be release soon! But can I ask you some... well favor for addition into this mod?
Well yeah, I just want you to add some new weapons into this mod. It will be grateful to see some various type of weapon rather than in the original. I suggest adding a grenade launcher from TFC and Nailgun from TFC? I would love to see both of it include in this mod.

Looks nice and nostalgic, great work :) I have some questions (out of curiousity):
- What´s the current state of the mod?
- Do you use only assets from TH trilogy or do you also use some of your own created ones?
- What inspired you to create this mod?
- Is this your first mod or have you made some other mods as well?
- The mod is in the beginning state. I've started to make it even in 2011 but then it was abanoned because I had no time for it at all. Then I had big problems with my eyes for three years. But now I'm making it everyday.
Anyway, don't wait for it too soon because I'm working alone so it will take some time.
- Yes, only TH assets. Maybe I'll add a few textures and sounds. But they won't change classic atmosphere. Also I'll need some sound actors later.
- They hunger has great atmosphere. Just want to make something canonic for this story. That's why I make the pre-sequel (between th2 and th3 when the main character of the original trilogy was in syncope state). If I finish the mod it can be called They Hunger 2.5 Maybe it's not too important in 2017 :) but I'll try to make it real nostalgic.
- I've started to make different mods several times. Never finished em for different reasons. Usually i made horrors and psychological mods Like "Half-quake:Amen", "The Trap" and "Afraid of Monsters DC".
Will this mod be for sure finished? please let this be finished cause i love they hunger.

Even to this day many people find TH as a very well made horror mod (Sad that Lost Souls has never made a release). I think this mod will be a great...may I call it "epxansion" ?

why expansion? It's a full-length mod. There will be mostly new maps and Just a few from the original trilogy.
