This is war is an all out war scenario that plays itself out on the island of Skira. As you embark on your journey, you can recruit soldiers into your squad and approach your objectives in any way you choose. This also includes a hotkey system and command system giving you dynamic objectives to accomplish throughout the entire game.

After a ton of tinkering and flirting with the limits of the OFDR game engine, I've finally struck a balance between too slow and too much. I've also decided to shelf the entire Operation Battlefield project and include a template for creating This is War style missions.

The new missions provide a pretty steady pace to the action and a great improvement to all of my prior attempts to incorporate a good close quarters experience into a larger open freeroam mission. This is why in addition to the close quarters missions, I've also included 4 campaigns that are regional in scope. One of the campaigns features a more linear progression through a series of locations while the other 3 have more of a freeroam feel.

The close quarters missions are all limited to a single location, but more importantly, they all include the mssn file used to create them. I included these files to use as starting points for mission creators to study and gain an understanding of how to set up scenarios using the included template. There are several scenarios that can be created. Defense, assault and conquest types of situations can all be created using this versitile code. You can even create a linear type of mission with a few adjustments to the parameters in the top of the level script and some properly placed points. Since the template uses entities from a custom database that was derived from TemplarGFX's Totally Awesome Enitity Database v2.2, I've also included it in the download as well.

I hope you will enjoy the missions and create some of your own.
