We are the Third Contingent mod team, and we'd like to introduce ourselves.
We're quite new around here so not many of you will have heard of us, but Third Contingent has been in production for quite a while and we thought we'd show off with a trailer video.
Third Contingent is a space combat mod for UT2004, featuring vehicular combat (space ships!), and combat on foot, in various gametypes. It features a realistic flight model unlike any space combat simulator before, allowing for a whole new style of play with (for the most part) true Newtonian physics and plenty of explosive action.
The trailer features dogfights between the scout fighter classes of two of the three races in the mod, the Terrans and the Proximans. There will be about 7-8 playable ship classes per team in the final mod.

Also, in a few days we plan to release an internal alpha, and we want a group of testers to playtest the mod for us, give suggestions, troubleshoot, etc etc. So if after watching the video you're interested, please log on to our forum.

The HUD will change totally. Any elements in the trailer that are original UT2004 elements (except textures) will be replaced eventually with bespoke stuff. Thanks for the comments so far!
Looks very very good, i must say, good lick with finishing the release. When I get UT2k4 this will definatly be the first thing i check out!

but i hope the hud changes.
The space physics look very remniscient of Star Control - realist frictionless coasting, but a maximum speed that makes it handle like a jet when under thrust. Very cool.
