The X-Wing Alliance Upgrade Project is a graphical update to the Lucasarts flight sim X-Wing Alliance. This, combined with other mods, will allow you to play through X-Wing, Tie Fighter, X-wing Vs. Tie Fighter, and X-wing Alliance with upgraded graphics, and improved gameplay mechanics. Other customized missions can be found onder the "addon" section.
Description
If you have a modern operating system and have tried to install X-wing Alliance, you have undoubtedly gotten a message saying that the game cannot run on modern operating systems. This is only because it cannot detect your operating system, X-wing Alliance runs great on windows Vista and Windows 7, The installer is the only thing that won't let you play. This installation tool will allow you to install the game on modern operating systems. *YOU NEED THE ORIGIONAL DISKS AND A PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS YOU TO BURN/MOUNT CD's, SUCH AS daemon Tools lite. IF YOU CANNOT MEET THESE TWO REQUIREMENTS, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO GET X-WING ALLIANCE TO WORK ON MODERN OPERATING SYSTEMS. Follow the instructions carefully, and consult the tutorial page for more information on this installation process.

aww man i dont know how to burn or mount disks but i do have the original x-wing alliance and x-wing vs. tie fighter,but even then I DONT HAVE A FLIGHT STICK AAAAAHHHHHHHH

Do i really need this X-Wing_Alliance_MSI_v1.0.0.0.zip? I read where you said we may already have an updated installer and C++. If we do, do we have to use X-Wing_Alliance_MSI_v1.0.0.0.zip anyways?
One more thing. This may be a stupid question but will it help make it run in hardware mode?
I installed it in my dual core computer with a pci express nvidia video card and the hardware mode works lol . Back In Buisness! :-)

I followed the instructions to the letter, however when I click on the XWINGALLIANCE.exe file it does nothing. I don't get an error message or anything. Nothing at all happens. The cursor does that circle thing for a split second like it's loading something, but then nothing happens. Anyone have any advice?
