Who And When "The Trenches" is a World War I mod for the Half-Life engine. Included in our first release are the British and Germans, two large players of the "Great War". Players will be able to fight for their homelands with six different weapons on many locations on the Western Front with two different kinds of gameplay. Game Play Rush over the top with your teammates or stay in your trench to pick off enemy troops in "Trench Capture" gameplay (tt) and cover the advance of your army to in territorial push (tp) play. Special Features The Trenches will have some features that will make this an even more unique mod than it already is. Some of these features (for the first release) include: - Custom Faces (no additional files needed!) - Built in MP3 Player with Exclusive Tracks - Realistic ambient sound system - Two classes for the Germans and British Imperial Forces - Manual "game action" system - High damage variables - Anti-"Cheap" measures...

Working on the content for 1.1 is progressing very good. In todays media update you will find 3 ingame shots from 1.1. The first shot shows the new german infantry model on tt_ardennes map. The next one shows your view when you wear your gasmask and the last image shows one shot from the night version

Working on the content for 1.1 is progressing very good. In todays media update you will find 3 ingame shots from 1.1.
The first shot shows the new german infantry model on tt_ardennes map. The next one shows your view when you wear your gasmask and the last image shows one shot from the night version of the map 0815. In addition you will find a short movie showing the dogfight between two pilots. The players of version 1.0 know that this was a nice feature of the 0815 map which will return in The Trenches version 1.1

Its still one of the best hl mods.:D Its a shame HL2 was on the way when they released, otherwise they would have got a lot of attention!

We need more WW1 games!

Its nice to see some mods are ignoring the HL2 hype and sticking with their plans all along. It's always a shame to see promising HL1 mods switch to the source engine, only to be killed within weeks.

Good going guys! I don't play this mod meself, but I'm definitely going to start!
