Ten years later, there's a new version of The Trapdoor!
This new version (3.1, "Reopened") is specially rebuilt for ATDD version 1.5, and may not be as you remember.
Original key features:
- Custom sanity system
- Over 250 lines of voice acted dialogue
- Two large, complex maps to get lost in
- Difficulty settings
New and redesigned for "Reopened":
- Sanity system tweaked and rebalanced
- Both old endings reworked, plus one brand new ending
- Twelve custom monsters: Grunts and Brutes re-imagined in claymation-like style
- Adaptive custom music track
- Expanded and re-balanced difficulty options, from Safe Mode to Nightmare mode

The easiest way to get and play this new version is on Steam Workshop... but if you wanted to read that you wouldn't be here! :P So, there's a version here on ModDB, but you need to make sure you have Amnessia: The Dark Descent version 1.5, or it will not work. Im getting an error message when I trying to load this, I click the batch file and it says 'Application load error 5:0000065434'. I have the steam version, I verified the integrity of my game cache but it didnt help?
Hmmm, I think this is an error between Steam and Amnesia, not directly connected to the mod.
Please can you confirm that you can run the vanilla version of Amnesia (no mods, ver 1.2, which includes the Justine expansion) by launching it
1) via the Steam client and
2) by double clicking the Amnesia.exe icon
Also, do you have Amnesia installed outside the default Steam directory (something like "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Amnesia The Dark Descent" ?
If you have Amnesia installed in the default Steam directory, you can run Amnesia.exe and not get the error, but you do get the error when you run the batch file, let me know and I'll look into it.

The base Amnesia works fine as do custom stories. The game is installed to my F:\ drive though, the path is:
F:\Steam Games\SteamApps\common\Amnesia The Dark Descent
That could perhaps be the problem? I have totally deleted Amnesia and let steam re-download the files and its still giving me the error message.
I've seen this error being related to the location of the files with other games, e.g.: Steamcommunity.com
I've just had a look at the thread linked above.
Try following the instructions by Gfor20ce to make a symbolic link between the default "..steamapps\common\" folder and your chosen Amnesia folder.
