A month after its first public release "The SoulKeeper" is available on the DVD of one of the major magazines in Germany, PC Action.
They also feature a detailed article/review along with several nice screenshots.
Later in December we will post the full article along with a translation on our website.
On another note, the Special Edition of "The SoulKeeper" progresses quite satisfactory, so expect a pre-release media update sometime soon.
I have a nother german gaming magazine from this month with screenshots and a description of the mod. if you want i can make a scan.
Hey Grasn, it would be much appreciated if you could send me a scan of the magazine.
Which magazine is it? Gamestar?
Good to hear Special Edition is proceeding. I would hate to see such an awesome mod die out because of a few bugs.
Die out?
"The SoulKeeper" is a project that has been going on for 2 years. It has gone through difficult times, and now it isn't one of them.
So I think die out is a term that really is not applicable to "The SoulKeeper".
Finally got around to trying it.
It's got some amazingly good ideas, and great art direction, with some of the worst technical forthought I've seen .
Making a pretty map, that's one thing
Make a pretty map and making it run SMOOTHLY, that's something else.
As it stands, the 2gb uncompressed install doesnt seem justified, and the massive amount of lag even offline ( I shudder to think what it would be like online ) made me uninstall this prettty quickly
I can't help but get the feeling that someone high up was shouting about eye candy this and eye candy that, without knowing the limitations of U-Engine.
HL2 or another engine might have served better here...
Great job there SK devs! Like I posted on your mod's site it is a shame that you get any negative comments for such a great work. I agree that there was one huge map that was lagging to me with all the dragons and stuff, but the developers already said it was an experimental map. Other than that all the maps run great and the game is fun and original. Something different than another WW2, CS, insert_other_popular type of a game.
Eagerly waiting for the SE! : )
