A demo release of The Robotropolis Project. It contains the first chapter, Clandestine Infiltration. Requires a Half-Life 1 installation on Steam to work. Other types of HL1 installs be it WON or Xash untested. Detailed installation instructions in the description.
This release is a demo of sorts for The Robotropolis Project, which has the first chapter that's mostly done development-wise, Clandestine Infiltration. This whole chapter includes 4 maps from the abandoned mines all the way to the high level security floor. Hope ya'll have fun with this one!
CHANGELOG:
- General: Made message texts last longer and be a bit more visible.
- Second map: Significantly increased the light "hint" to the monitor that unlocks the access doors.
- Second map: Added crystals to the cave tunnel leading to the storage area. Should make it more visible.
- Second map: Placed one more cart near the second guard post.
- Fourth map: Fixed clipping issue with core exit vent. I think.
- Fourth map: Clips added to the core locks. Hopefully people won't get stuck there anymore.
- Fourth map: Added lights to indicate which of the large doors can open.
- Fourth map: Extra text to make it very obvious what you're meant to be doing in the start of area objectives.
- Fourth map: Some extra clips stuck on the chair to help steadiness in the escape.
- Fourth map: Made it so that only one of the circular door piece emit the door sounds.
INSTALLATION:
Extract the satam_demo folder that is inside the .7z into your Half-Life installation folder (Where hl.exe is located, NOT inside any of the other folder such as "valve" or "valve_hd")"
Example would be "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life"
There should now be a "satam_demo" folder inside your Half-Life installation folder along with any other mod/steam-related folders you may have inside.
Restart Steam, The Robotropolis Project - Part 1 should be inside the Games list.
If that doesn't work somehow, create a shortcut of hl.exe, open it's Properties, add " -game MODNAME" to the end of the target bar.
Example would be "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\hl.exe -game satam_demo"
Wow, nice! Congratulations with first release!
It work fine on Xash, at least pc
So, I've found some time to play it, and it's epic! Most interesting stealth mission I've seen in HL mods, probably. Unfortunately, not fully supported by the latest version of Xash3D (same for FWGS), it shows a message, that third map is incompatible (as I found, it's because map hits the limit of 32727 clipnodes, this probably can be solved by better optimization). Mapping in overall is outstanding, anyways. Works with Steam HL normally. Also I've managed to launch all maps with older build of Xash3D, 3598 (if someone needs an alternative for Steam):

P. S. Another great thing about demo, that it doesn't have a new code either, but we have a gameplay which is quite different from usual, it's awesome! That demonstrates how many possibilities are included in original HLSDK, and people just have to learn to make something cool.
