The Land of the Seven Kingdoms was once the peaceful creation of Eilior, the Great Being, but when the dark lord Wersin disbanded the Nonacyclus and descended upon the world, the peace of the world was shattered. Eilior gave man the gift of the Orb. The Orb is the strength of mankind's protection against Wersin and enchants the weapons of the Army of the Seven Kingdoms. The dark clouds of war covered the land and when the great battle had ended, Wersin was the new possessor of the Orb. The Orb of Dilaaria is a Wolfenstein 3D/Spear of Destiny based TC that brings a new look to the classic game. All graphics, sounds, and music have been changed and a few tricks and surprises were tossed in to keep you on your toes...
Here are the eight guard types that were
abandoned. The reason for abandoning these guards
was a combination of two reasons.
1) Memory problems caused by too many VSWAP
entries.
2) Their actions doubled those of other guards.
If the memory problems didn't happen, I
probably would have left them in anyway. Maybe
they will work their way into another mod, if I
decide to do one.
The first and second ones are from doom- Baron of Hell (or Hell Knight) and Revenant
The first is from the ZDoom Monster Resource WAD based on the Baron. The second is a recolored Revenant minus the rocket launchers. The knights are from WitchHaven. The spider is from Blood as is the red gargoyle (just recolored). I think the bat is from the ZDoom Monster WAD also, if not, the Hexen. I'm pretty sure the last one is from Hexen.
I'm not an artist, so I borrowed from other sources. I tried to steer clear of 100% commercial material, but, as you've noticed, some of the guards are heavily based on commercial material.
I thought that they didn't look that bad, why didn't you use them?
I ended up using the first one in place of a similar one I had. There just wasn't enought memort in the engine for them all.
