I was never satisfied with the design I had created for the Alliance classes. The Soldier looked great, but when the class specific designs were applied they were out of place, not lore friendly and awkward.

When I took control of the design for the Alliance units I was instructed the most important thing was they be easily distinguished from eachother.

Well since I was unhappy with them, and because the community spoke up about them, I have redone them. We're much happier with them, and we believe you will be as well.

The Infiltrators will have map type specific camo. For instance, they will get grey Urban camo on Kamino, green Jungle camo on Dagobah and Virmire, and so on.

This is the Snow Infiltrator.

These redone skins look fantastic, all of them. And these images appear really crisp, what resolution are these textures?

1024^2 for the body, 512^2 for the helmet.

Do you think increasing size would improve visuals without causing a drop in performance? Or is this more of a zero engine issue?

It's mostly a file size issue. When you increase a texture's resolution from 1024^2 to 2048^2 it increases its file size 4x over. The 1024^2 is 4MB, if it was 2048^2 it would be 16MB. Now consider that we have 9 of them. 9x16MB=144MB just for the body textures for the Alliance. This doesn't count the helmet. 9x4MB=36.

180MB for the Alliance unit models alone is ridiculous.
45MB on the other hand is a lot more reasonable.

The visual difference does not outweigh the cost of file size.

Is there a noticeable improvement in the texture when you increase the size by that much?
They already look better than anything in vanilla SWBFII, good work.
