The Less Generic NPC project, or LGNPC for short is a mod that aims to replace all the repetitive Morrowind dialogue with more interesting and engaging conversations. We want each NPC in every town, village, or camp to have his or her own personality and back story.
We have decided to approach this mod town by town, and release each one when it is finished. We hope to ultimately replace the dialogue for every NPC on Vvardenfell, and so far we have completed 8 towns and a big city. The big city we are talking about is Ald'ruhn, the main headquarters of House Redoran. It is actually the largest single mod we will release, since we are going to do Vivec one canton at a time. This plugin is the biggest Morrowind dialogue mod ever released, containing over 3000 responses for 250 topics, and is equivalent to more than 500 MSWord pages. Moreover, it has 30 quests for you to enjoy.
We have aimed to preserve the Morrowind feel with each of our NPCs, so you can rest assured none of them will tell you their new DVD player is cool. We plan to release merged mods for each region when it is done, and eventually a single mod for all of Vvardenfell. Many NPCs in the towns we replaced now have branching dialogue, as well as completely unique responses to countless topics. Any NPC that is part of a quest still functions as before, but has unique dialogue.
Many NPCs also have their own quests attached. We do not like over-powering rewards, so some of those include scrolls, jewelry, a small cozy house, alchemy knowledge, reputation, and miscellaneous artifacts, all balanced with the quests they are gained from. In addition to that, some new quests are intertwined with the old ones, and of course the old ones are always taken into account when each NPC is written.
In spite of our numerous releases, the mod is still in development, and we're always welcoming new writers to join.
All our members are writers. One of our writers is around here:
Princess Stomper - Pelagiad - Vivec
After many months of silence, with the stealth of a master thief, the Less Generic NPC Team surprises you with another installment of the long (and hopefully continually) running LGNPC series: Vivec, the Foreign Quarter version 0.50.
This is not a beta, but a thoroughly tested release. The reason that it is version 0.50 is because only one-half of the NPCs have been written. The project came to a stand-still last summer, but such a good start had been made on the Foreign Quarter it seemed a shame not to make it available (if only in part) to the community.
This mod is bigger and better tested than both Tel Mora and Pelagiad, having over 1800 responses that fill over 230 A4 pages, as well as a dozen of quests.
Our team has had major changes over the course of development of this mod, which led to many re-writes and rehashes, but by now we have a pretty stable team that'll hopefully finish the next installment much more quickly.

Although it took much more time than originally expected, the mod is here for all of you to download. As always, the mod gives every NPC unique dialogue...
Today, a new version of the LGNPC mod for the quiet coastal village of Hla Oad has been released. In this release, we have performed a major spelling...
How did it all begin? Where is it going? Well, its something like this...
Contains dialogue for 8 towns and 1 major city, part of Sedya Neen, 2 Vivec Cantons (Redoran and Foreign Quarter), House Redoran, Indarys Manor, Secret...
This makes the NPCs of the Bloodmoon expansion (Solstheim mostly) less generic. New dialogue in Solstheim specific topics is added, and the existing dialogue...
This makes the NPCs of the Tribunal expansion less generic and more interesting. New dialogue in Tribunal specific topics is added, and the existing dialogue...
This makes the NPCs of the Morrowind Main Quest less generic and more interesting. Approximately 70 NPCs have had new dialogue, personality, and backstory...
This headreplacer was originally made for my private use, but as players requested me to release it, I have done so.

waaaait a minute :O
this has been on moddb the entire time ?
xD LOL at me for not noticing
is this still worked on btw?
they didn't get to make a persuasion overhaul that would be worth this mod, since if you shove enough gold at a random NPC he will tell you his life story
It really doesn't sound like it still is. Just judging by their website's outdated links and such. I would have loved to see something like this completely finished.
Soo cool! This is acutally something I have thought of several times but it has always struck me as a project to big. I'm certain that this will turn out to be very cool.
Btw I hope it's possible to integrate this with Morrowind Rebirth somehow.

I want tis so bad. Its probly pretty teadius to work on this when Oblivion is out there. But to be honest i like morrowind better. Morrowind is a truly openended rpg. While Oblivion is sort of a middelclass mix :/ Stil like it thoug, but morrowind is better. Why take the mustang when you can have a full breed right :) Can't wait for it to be complete :D Peace guys
I know that obliion has come out, but don't stop plenty still play morrowind and this mods would be awsome.
