ok ive done a little more screwing around with the editor and have come to the conclusion that it dose have something to do with mods. i made changes to a mission in a mod i play (the zombie one) and the changes actually stuck! but i made changes in the same mod to one of the original missions and still no dice. i did everything. from replacing original missions in the mod to replacing the actual mods mission all to no avail. whatever changes i make to the original missions just plain dose not stick. (by replace i mean save over in the GEM editor.) as i said before, any help someone can provide would be appreciated. or at least a finger pointed in the right direction. thanks in advance.

Try renaming the file when you save it in the editor. I think the game doesn't allow you to save over an existing vanilla map. You can find your saved maps and missions inside the resource\map folder. You technically dont need to create a mod to access an edited map but it makes things easier when playing the modded game outside the editor and when you want to include more modifications beyond just the map, such as new weapons and vehicles or even just unit values and textures.
Create a mods folder inside your mow folder, in the mods folder create whatever you decide to call your mod, inside create an .info file using notepad containing the following and change only the contained text
{mod
{name "mod name in here, same as folder"}
{desc "anything in here for description"}
}

inside the same folder create a resource folder and within that a map folder, inside place your maps (can be contained in multiple folders)

hello, sorry to be a bother but ive been trying to do this for awhile now with no success. all im trying to do is add a few units to the un-modded campaign (either the A.S. one or the original) via the GEM editor. all to no avail, no matter what i do the changes i made and units i added do not stay. im trying to sort of do a defense thing to where i can choose to do the actual mission, or just set the difficuly real high and see if i can survive with the units i provide myself. therefore assault squad would be best, as the ai periodically sends reinforcements to attack you in the un-modded campaign. i started thinking maybe id have to create a mod in the mods folder for the changes to stay but i dont know how to do that. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I recently downloaded the mod, and its great. But I think Im stuck on some sort of glitch. Im on point du hoc and I found all the artillery bases, and im at the part where it says fight all the enemies in the trenches and get to the road.

After some times, I killed every last enemy on the map, even the tanks that spawned at the road (using AT mines). But it wont show me what to do next. Ive tried moving all my remaining units (including the radio operator) to the place on the road that is highlighted when I click on the objective, but nothing happens.

What do I do to trigger the next event?

try,take the radio operator and some soldiers and move with them to the street

I've tried that, but it wont work. I've walked around the entire map with the radio operator but nothing happened. Could you explain what I should do after I show the operator all the artilliary bunkers?
