Forgive my ignorance, but how a mod of Crysis 2, will not require Crysis 2 itself to run? I'm developing on cryengine too so just curious.
The game was originally developed as a mod but they changed their plans, the game is'nt even developed with Cryengine 2 anymore, they use Cryengine 3 now.
You can find the game on Steam Greenlight now.
I'm not sure since I never bothered with all that magic SDK stuff
But isn't cryengine SDK is made to create a standalone projects?
As for your question, my guess is probably that it "used" to be a mod, before it turned into a standalone project
Oculus Rift support would be nice, and maybe having a gun (but make it useless to still have a scare factor in there. For instance take a Dead space 3 approach introduce maybe some scenarios where you cant tell if something is good or bad, whether it may hurt you or not, that it disappears if shot at then maybe reappears behind you or slowly approaches you but jumps across the screen when a bullet is fired at it making it impossible to hit. Make some walking noise behind you but make it to where maybe nothing is there just **** like that, I just wanna be put on edge constantly without knowing whether something s gonna be there when i turn around or not. Nasty strings (Amnesia the dark descent does a perfect thriller music theme) like scary violins and such would be nice, just a gritty scary atmosphere is what I'm after. - Eric
I'm still waiting for updates :(
You said on June that:
"Next month:
"The Ward" Backstory
New Music
(TBA)"
We're on August and you still didn't announce an update
Any new updates coming soon?
Looks awesome, looking forward to play it. Just somethings you might want to keep in mind so you don't make a Slender: The Arrival fail:
1. The Arrival's gameplay was exactly the same as any other Slender game (note collecting with some changes). Since everyone expected a different gameplay, The Arrival was a disappointment. If you want the game to be more than another Slender game with better graphics you should make a whole different gameplay. (Damn characters limit :X, I'll continue on my next comment)
2. The Arrival's storyline wasn't good as people thought it would be, you couldn't understand anything and why are you doing the things you're doing. Your storyline sounds better and if you manage to make it realistic it would make the game creepier.
3. Take as much time as you need to make this game, I've never played a game and thought: "This game is crap but at least I didn't have to wait for so long to play it so I can ignore it." and I'm sure neither have you. You can release only a part of the game (A part of the story mode for example), and add parts to the story mode in later updates. As long as the game is good people wouldn't mind to wait to play it.
4. The Arrival was short... waaaaaaaaaay too short, nobody likes a short game.
5. I think you could have done a better trailer but that's just my opinion :).
I'll comment if I think about anything else. I hope you'll comment soon ;D
Nice work, I like the feeling of it from what was shown so far.
This game/mod looks very interesting, weather the game lags on my computer or not, I'm going to play it
if u can play crysis 1, 2, or 3 on your computer you should be fine
I know this mod hasn't gained a lot of funding support but I really hope that it wont stop you from developing it
