It says I have to put it in the SoaSE mods folder, I don't have one so I create one and put the Volumetric 1.0 folder in the mods folder. Nothing happens. I then go to Options, Mods and theres nothing. I then look at the modpath and it says "Documents and Settings/*classified*/Local Settings/Application Data/Ironclad Games/Sins of a Solar Empire/Mods, I go and look for this and theres no Ironclad Games folder, so I make it, the Sins of a Solar Empire and Mods folder and put the mod in there. Nothing happens.

Seriously wtf is going on.

Don't know if this matters but I have the European version which has the Kalypso/Sins of a Solar Empire folder.

Yeah, i have the same problem, there's no ''Ironclad Games'' folder, i have sins of a solar empire in a Kalypso folder, making it impossibble to use any of the shiny mods here.

Dunno why your "Ironclad Games" folder isn't there

Took me days to figure that one out. I'd try reinstall. I'm using Vista btw.

Well, for me, *classified* was Administrator - so try looking in each of the user profile's sections. Failing that, just do a search files and folders, type in Ironclad Games, and go for that. If you installed the game right, the folder has to exist somewhere, otherwise it wouldn't have anywhere to keep your settings/saves.

Let us know if you have further problems..

Are you using Vista or XP? Vista keeps the user files in a different folder, I believe its in the c:\users\*username*\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods

Yeah I used the search files and folders to find Ironclad Games, there was nothing.

I was using XP. I have Sins installed on a Vista laptop, let me see if I can find the folder on there.

Oh and can I ask you one thing about your films. How did you manage to get rid of the planet icons and the cursor? I can get rid of the HUD, ship icons, phase links but I can't get rid of the planet pictures.

You get rid of *everything* by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Z. Fraps gets rid of the cursor. Also, you have to be a little creative with camera angles... and mouse - for example, if you accidentally pass over a moving unit with a mouse, a green vector line appears, which ruins the shot.

Alright, it works on my Vista laptop. Unfortinatly it doesn't work on XP. Strange.

i seem to be having this same problem, on my vista.
I've installed SOSE through impulse from stardock.
There is no AppData folder under my user, so no iron clad games folder.
The SOSE folder is under Program files/stardock games. The mods path that is shown in the game says "(user)\appdata\Ironclad Games\SOSE\mods.
Any suggestions?
i'm gonna keep investigating and scouring for the folder.
