UNFORTUNATELY, THIS MOD IS OFFICIALLY DEAD AS OF 27-Nov-2019.
Thank you to all those who played and supported the mod!
Alternately titled "The Lord of the Rings: The Last Days"
The Last Days: Film Edition is a conversion of the original "The Last Days of the Third Age" mod, replacing equipment, music, characters, scenes (using InVain's Scenepack) and more with versions which are in-line with those from The Lord of the Rings film series, with a bit of The Hobbit mixed in. In addition to the presentation part of the mod, TLD Film Edition also contains a rebalance of all factions which have been visually reworked, as well as edits to names and quest rewards.

Frequently asked questions:
Q: How complete is the mod?
A: Only somewhat. As of December 2018, Gondor, Harad, Khand, Rhun and the Orc/Black Numenorean factions are mostly complete. Other factions, such as Imladris/Arnor are either unedited yet or partially finished. The mod isn't constantly being worked on, so there is no chance of me giving a release date. That being said, TLD Film Edition is however still fully playable!
Q: What's the difference between this and TLD Overhaul?
A: I can't say for sure what the difference is as I haven't played much TLD Overhaul. I do know that Overhaul is a great mod and highly recommend you check it out if this mod doesn't suit your tastes.
Q: Why aren't X Y or Z from the movies/book in the mod, or why is X Y and Z different from the book/The Hobbit series?
A: This version of TLD is based entirely on the movies (as well as some additional sources for things we don't see, such as the GamesWorkshop strategy game), unlike the original TLD mod. If the book and movie contradict each other, the movie takes precedence.
The Hobbit trilogy is an exception as I really don't like a lot of the art direction in those movies, so some things from The Hobbit may be altered or entirely different (though they will still be based on pre-Hobbit sources, of course). Also keep in mind that a lot of stuff hasn't been updated and thus retains its book-themed look from the original mod.
Q: Can I make a suggestion/report a bug?
A: Absolutely! I'd love to hear your input as well as any bug reports you have. Comment below and I'll reply as soon as I get a chance!
Well, friends, it's been quite the journey for The Last Days: Film Edition, but, as old Bilbo Baggins once said, "I regret to announce that this is The End."
It is with a fair amount of sadness that I must announce that TLD Film Edition has officially halted development. As the sole developer, I no longer have time to work on the mod and would rather focus on other projects, and to be honest I don't really have a whole lot of interest in Middle-earth these days. With that being said, I feel as if it would be wrong to deprive you guys - the fans - of the additional work I put into the mod in its own last days.
So...I have decided to release the "final" version of the mod as-is. This includes all of the new updates made since the previous Alpha release, as well as a fair bit of work that was never advertised - you'll have to discover that for yourself. Unfortunately releasing it in this state does mean that it the mod bug-ridden and filled with unfinished work, but at least it's better than sitting around on my hard drive until the end of time.
I want to give a massive thank you to all of the players and fans of the mod who provided feedback and enjoyed the mod even in its rough state. I never thought the mod would become as popular as it did, and I am really happy that you guys had as much fun playing the project as I did making it! Without your support, I probably would never have come as far as I did with the mod.

So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains
Where the spirits go now
Over the hills where the spirits fly
Thank you again!

Finally, a word regarding the use of TLD Film Edition assets:
As of this final release, all TLD Film Edition assets are free to use for anyone as they see fit, PROVIDED they are used for Mount & Blade modding. The only thing I ask is that you give credit - either to me (TheIdiot) or TLD Film Edition itself - when using Film Edition assets.
I hope others can find use for the vast array of material I created for this mod and perhaps put them to use in an alternate Middle-earth setting!
I've finally decided to just go ahead and release what I have so far to spare everyone the potential wait!
The sheer enthusiasm and overwhelming response to this mod has provoked me to continue working on it...so here's a list of current planned features for...
The only file you need to play. Does not require a previous installation of TLD or TLD Film Edition - just unzip it into your modules folder and go! Please...

hello
Its a great mod with some issues for now
FIrst in the first first mission (ambush)
it says down left that orc hair is missing etc many times..
Later as a friend told here before
it crashes when I try to enter in hornburg for example or edoras hall..
and some bad issues of showing green color in the horizon of minas Tirith outside
I Love the mod and especially the LOTR music and the film edition armors etc.. but has many issues
Also the Minas Tirith of the 3.5 vr of TLD (no film edition) seems much greater the outside of the White city so it could give a better screen result if you try to set that scene when I aproache the White City
He stopped working at this mod, read his last article.
It crashes when war starts, what should I do?
I believe this has something to do with the cutscene that plays - try hitting TAB to see if you can skip the cutscene.
