11 unique factions full of new heroes, spells, and abilities. Hundreds of new maps. A brand-new campaign. A thoroughly reworked and expanded War of the Ring mode - and much more!
I'm sure this will make me sound like a ****, but I believe you guys really value feedback so I'll say it. Everything concerning the head is great, I specially like how well made the hair is; same for the weapons, outstanding detail and resolution. Compared to other art I've seen from you lately, the body on this one seems somewhat with less resolution and with some rough parts, like the hands, and with some parts that melt with each other (less 3D on the detailsyou could say)
For example, if I take this model as a point of reference Moddb.com (dol amroth knight), you can see that the model is super proportionate, each part of the equipment is well defined so that they look like different items put together and distinctive from one-another (consider the stripes and belt for example in both models).
It probably is mostly a shadow/color usage problem (with the model being too light as compared to the original for example Goo.glGoo.gl ), or even no problem at all, I'm far from a professional on the subject. Either way I have no doubt that in-game this things must be no big deal and it looks better than fine.
Keep in mind that for a lot of our renders we have 3dsMax's ambient occlusion setting enabled. Shadows are going to look a lot deeper when we use it. The Knights just so happen to be one of those. Our renders where the model is animated only use w3d viewer's lighting which lacks the more advanced functions we have in Max.
Once we put him ingame we'll see if there are any adjustments needed and then go from there.
Thanks for the answers guys, really appreciate your approach to well-intended criticism. What you are saying explains a lot of the visual differences between the models. Regarding the hands then it must be precisely because of what you point out, as the armor is lighter, the rest of the body looks thinner in comparison to other wider clothes/armor models like the Dol Amroth Knight for instance and thus, the hands look bigger.
This is all very interesting behind the scenes insight, which also helps dimension how much work goes into your models.
I love what you are building and how with this mod, keep it up!
I think this is a matter of expectations going beyond the intended design. Legolas wears thin velvet, thin boots, simple bracers. Embossing each individual part (more than I already have) would make him look more ‘defined’, yes, but not more accurate.
The hands are identical in mesh to every other hand model in the mod today. We use only 1.
Left is him at Helm's Deep, middle is him at the start of Fellowship, right is him after Lothlórien. So yeah, he's got the bow of the Galadhrim on the left one also.
Legolas' idea of getting battle-ready against an army of heavily armoured Uruk-Hai is to simply wear some spaulders over his normal gear. Gotta love the level of confidence...
This character can be used in Age of The Ring 3.1 also the Lord Elve Thranduil?? those are my favorite characters on this games, Thranduil in his shining plate armor with his pair of swords and as archer too damn.. that would be awesome as your team guys, thanks for this excelent mod, please consider put legolas and thranduil in elves for skirmish.
Thank you for this work guys... i downloaded this mod and installed it yesterday following your instructions on the Tutorial section it was so useful the game runs perfect and no errors on it.
Thanks again for this work i think its awesome and the best mod ever for this games!

Now this is how you do constructive criticism.

Ohh.. gods O.O NICE!
what faction will he be in?
Part of a summon in Rohan, a main hero in Mirkwood, and a campaign character.
Flawless!
so good model damm
Do we expect to download the version at the beginning of the new year .......
likely a few months after that, but who am I to judge? a lot of work has been done and a lot has yet to be done
Why one of the Legolas carries a sword???
I think he carries one during the Battle of Helm's Deep, it looks like a Rohan sword from what I can tell.
I.dailymail.co.uk
is it just and add-on or will he be able to use it? cos his animations don't allow it I think
In the left one is Legolas with the bow- gift from Galandriel?
Left is him at Helm's Deep, middle is him at the start of Fellowship, right is him after Lothlórien. So yeah, he's got the bow of the Galadhrim on the left one also.
Amazing details! Just a cuestion, when they are summon in rohan what skins have legolas and aragorn, helms deep or the three hunters?
Three Hunters
Thanks!!

Hello!
Unless I'm wrong, Legolas never did have a sword, did he?
Other than that, it's looking great :)
He had one at helms deep on a horse during the final charge:
I2.wp.com
That still counts as one!!!
