The Game Of Thrones Adaptation Mod aims to 'adapt' your Skyrim game into the world of Westeros, as featured in the A Song Of Ice And Fire books by George R. R. Martin.
This will involve changing everything from the soldiers you encounter (goodbye Imperials, hello Lannisters), the places you visit (Windhelm? I think you mean Winterfell) and conversion of several tens of thousands of text and subtitles to adapt the story and lore to a more Westeros-friendly environment.
In addition to meeting hundreds of characters from ASOIAF and GoT lore, you'll also be able to recruit over 50 unique NPC followers to accompany you as you fight your way across the Seven Kingdoms.
From Tyrion Lannister and Sandor Clegane to Arya Stark and Brienne of Tarth, you can take your adventure across Westeros with any of your favorite characters. In addition, most of these followers have their own unique armor sets (and in some cases, weapons too).
Of course, the mod doesn't just focus on adapting content from Skyrim. It also adds a lot of original content too. New locations, built and populated entirely from scratch, have been added to your new modded version of Westeros to really expand the places you can visit. Dragonstone, Bear Island, Robb Stark's war camp...the list goes on, and there are plans to grow even more ambitious with this.
After the initial release of the 'base' version of the mod, the plan is to turn focus on creating larger custom worldspaces for the player to visit centered around the large cities of Meereen, Vaes Dothrak and Braavos.
DLC compatibility is also on the radar. For players with all the DLC, they will see the likes of the Dawnguard transformed into the elite Golden Company - a band of highly-prized sellswords under the commander of the exiled Lord Jon Connington of Griffin's Roost.
Solstheim will become the lands beyond the Wall, with Raven Rock now the eastern Night's Watch castle of Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. Populated by wildlings, Thenns, snarks and grumkins, the far north is a dangerous place for even the most hardy traveller once you have stepped past the Wall...
This is just a small taste of what the mod will offer when the base version is released. For future versions, the plans include more worldspaces, more compatibility patches (so you can play Westerosi versions of the most popular mods) and the big prize - custom questlines built from scratch that allow you to go on a unique, exclusive Game of Thrones adventure.
I also plan to launch a YouTube series in the near future detailing the mod's progress, previewing features and (if there's interest) providing tutorials on how certain parts of the mod were achieved.
There's no release date at the moment as it is difficult to predict how much free time can be dedicated to the mod per week (we all know how real life can suck sometimes) but stay subscribed to this mod page for the latest updates.
