The Fourth Age: Total War - The Dominion of Men is a full-conversion & fully modfoldered modification for Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion 1.6. Inspired solely by the written works of J.R.R. Tolkien, it seeks to reflect both the spirit and lore of Middle-earth as Tolkien saw it. The Dominion of Men is fully stable, feature-rich, innovative, thoroughly balanced, and conforms to the highest standards of both graphical and coding quality.

An excellent mod that distinguishes itself from countless others through a setting never seen in any other Middle Earth mod or game, a book focused interpretation, and a loving degree of quality and care from unit models to campaign mechanics. Each faction is distinctive and plays its own way, and even the most minor factions have a chance to be memorable and enjoyable. The music and aesthetics combine to create an image wholly its own, distinctive and refreshing in a sea of mods that seem to all ape one another. There are a number of completely unique ideas and concepts displayed, but my favorites would have to be the mods take on many 'staples'; Harad, Dale, Dorwinion, all are completely distinct from their takes in other mods and games, without even mentioning Adunabar which has no equivalent, or the way in which the Elven faction in Fourth Age functions in its own campaign.
