The Forsaken Paradise is a new world mod for TESV: Skyrim, which takes place in a new worldspace, called "The Forsaken Paradise".
The aim of this modification is to create a worldspace full of different islands, unique places and maybe also some quests.
This mod is in an early development stage, there is currently only landscaping done. I've also done some of the LOD, but it doesn't look perfect at the moment.
There is much more coming with further development, as animals, NPCs, dungeons and some settlements.

That's what I'm looking for! But instead of a "long forgotten, ancient island in the wide west of tamriel", why not locating it in Elsweyr? Elsweyr is not only a desert, and it will be even more lore-friendly. With its own worldmap as Solsteim, and an access to it through the Skyrim south frontier, it will be really perfect.
There's already 'Pathway to Elsweyr' mod, which matched every point you made.
Because modders make what they want to make. And if that's not what the author wants to make, then he wont make it.
