Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (C&C 95) and Red Alert. While classic mode gets as close to the original game-play and balance as possible, Enhanced mode provides improved game balance and a lot of fun new stuff. DTA features many customization options for Skirmish and multiplayer (where you can play as GDI, Nod, Allies and Soviet on over 200 maps), challenging original singleplayer missions, as well as co-op missions. Since this is a stand-alone mod, you don't require anything but the mod itself to be able to play: the original game is not required.
DTA 1.13 will be a huge, awesome multiplayer-focused update. Along with many gameplay improvements, it will come with an entirely new Client which offers better graphics, much faster performance and a lot more features than the old one.
This image displays the new CnCNet Lobby, which will feature unique chat channels for all games I support (basically, you will be able to view only DTA players' messages without having the DTA- prefix in your name), colored chat and private messaging.
You will hear more later.
Will 1.13 fix the system.outofmemoryexception error?
I believe so. In 1.13 I use a different way of checking when the game process has exited. Now I'm also running Windows 8.1 x64 myself, and I'm not having any issues.
Well I just installed the game on my Windows 10 test machine but I have yet to run it :P
Let's hope it will, it was annoying for me.
Please report back once you've tried to run it, I'd love to know if DTA has any compatibility issues with Windows 10. You'll most likely have to enable the TS-DDRAW renderer from the options for it to work at all though (just like on Windows 8).
It'd be interesting if DTA runs fine on Windows 10 without requiring TS-DDRAW...
I've ran it with TS-DDRAW, everything was fine, the only thing I couldn't do was launch a skirmish game, or at least see it, and when I exit it through the task manager it goes back the the lobby.
I had the computer set the compatibility mode to Windows 7, then Windows XP (SP3), neither worked.
So you didn't manage to actually play DTA on Windows 10 at all or just not Skirmish?
The Renderer options only affect the ingame display and not the client.
I wasn't able to play on skirmish, everything else worked fine, even logging onto CnCNet.
I've tried with TS-DDRAW, IE_DDRAW, and nether. It seems that IE_DDRAW makes the screen go black for a split second when trying to launch a sirmish game though.
That sounds a bit worrisome; I hope it won't really be like this when Windows 10 is actually released.
Hey whatever happened to the music button?
