Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (C&C 95) and Red Alert. While classic mode gets as close to the original game-play and balance as possible, Enhanced mode provides improved game balance and a lot of fun new stuff. DTA features many customization options for Skirmish and multiplayer (where you can play as GDI, Nod, Allies and Soviet on over 200 maps), challenging original singleplayer missions, as well as co-op missions. Since this is a stand-alone mod, you don't require anything but the mod itself to be able to play: the original game is not required.

Description

This is the full version of Dawn of the Tiberium Age v6.6.2: all files necessary to play are included, so you also don't need to have the original game installed. To install, simply extract all files to an empty folder and then run DTA.exe to play.

i instaleld this over an older installation - am i getting these bugs because of that? if not, here's a list of some issues:

map Tideland (Naval) - bottom starting position has invisible tiberium tree to the right of it (i can see respawning tiberium, but not the tree)

GDI can build two Behemoths listed as two separate units
NOD artillery can hit air (not sure, but i could target enemy orcas with Mobile Artilelry unit)
NOD can build only one SSM launcher

I wouldn't advice overwriting an older installation with the files from a new version's full zip package because you'll end up with redundant/unused files that way, but it shouldn't cause any problems.
Still, if you already have the old version, it should have notified you that a new version was available and have offered to automatically update to that version.

Anyhow, there is no invisible tiberium tree on tideland: tiberium can spread on its own without a tiberium tree, but it then just spreads at a slower rate and won't regrow once an entire tiberium field has been depleted.

The behemoth and artillery issues you mentioned are indeed bugs, but they're fixed in version 1.1659 (get it by just letting the client automatically download the update; don't redownload the full zip package again =P).

The SSM Launcher is Nod's epic unit in Enhanced mode and I'm sure you'll realize why you can only build one of it once you try it.

Minor bug, the text of the Longbow icon flickers when it is highlighted white while being built.

Also the link to the download from the release news post is broken due to the version change.

I'll fix the Longbow icon in the next update, but I'll wait until there are more changes first because the update will be at least 58 MB and that's a little much to just fix an icon.

Is there a reason why Nod's regular power plant's can't be captured in the second tutorial mission, but the advanced plants can?

Engine limitations at the time the mission was made. I'm not sure if they'd still apply though, or whether those power plants could be replaced with capturable ones.

Try selecting a different tunnel server when hosting the game (click Advanced Options in the game creation dialog).

I noticed with Turbo Vehicles the Mammoth Tank stays at its default speed, which matches what was done in RA; but that make it very slow in comparison to the rest of the combat vehicles. Would you consider changing it or is it kept that way for the RA experience?

The "Turbo Vehicles" options was actually specifically added for RA1 fans that prefer the faster vehicles they have there.

But not including faster Mammoths, I'm guessing.

The point is to give vehicles the same speeds as in RA1, so no.

Is it possible to allow the launcher to access the main menu once you've created a game to change game options, or do they have to be locked in at that point?

If you go to the CnCNet tab in the options menu, you can enable an option to stay connected outside of the CnCNet lobby.

Once you've created a game though, all the main menu buttons are replaced by game lobby ones until you leave. I was wondering if it was possible to allow changing resolution / sound / etc. settings while having a game lobby open.

Another feature that you could consider adding, which I remembered when trying the CnCNet RA1 client: parabombs?

That's not supported by the TS engine.

"Control Terminated" might be a better sound edit for a player losing than just the plain "Terminated", and to avoid confusion the "Battle Control Terminated" could be changed to plain "Battle Terminated".

This is mod is such a Masterpiece! Prepare yourself to a total destruction mayhem and a good reason to detach your eyes from the screen.
Just a few bugs that I would like to report (win 10):
- In the single missions, after the first save is made, the game freezes and is possible to go on only by using CTRL-ESC and open again the game. After that all the other saving are fine.
- Sometime when the game is loaded, the minimap is not well redendered and it has stange colors. A few time happened with all the screen also.
Really good work! Thanks a lot!
