The Dark Age mod for Crysis

The morning dew still glistened on the foliage. Cool fall winds
rustled the few trees outside. The gray stones of the castle wall
seemed impregnable. Safe.

Most of the peasants had already fled
into the countryside, leaving only the battle hardened. The flags flew
high above the castle. There could be no doubt to whom the castle
belonged.

The horsemen were waiting. The archers were in position.

And in the distance, the war cry sounded.

The
first shattering blow shook the forward wall and showered dust on those
below. The archers released their arrows on the charging ranks. And the
ground shook as the first pounding crash struck the main gate.

"Ram!" someone cried.

Archers rushed to answer... but were slowed by a volley of arrows from outside.

The
wall shook again. some of the stones fell away this time, leaving holes
in the defense. The answering trebuchet heaved heavy loads into the air.

But the gate buckled.

"Reinforce the gate. Braces to your duties!"

But
before any defenders could react, a crashing wave of debris exploded
from the forward wall. The wound was grievous. The upper sagging
timbers and stones above the damage gave way and the wall was opened.

The ram at the gate then shattered the seal and snapped through the braces.

"Breach!"

The
charging band of horsemen dashed over the rubble and through the gate,
trampling men underfoot. The horsemen of the king responded quickly,
meeting the threat in a thunderous exchange of swordsmanship and
stampeding hooves.

Archers continued to fling their darts at the enemy beyond the castle wall. And the first wave of horsemen collapsed inward.

And the charge was sounded. The defenders rushed to the castle walls and their horsemen sped out into the battle.

The Dark Age is a fresh take on medieval battles.

Team based game play will take place in various game modes. 3 modes have already been planned.

The game will
offer the two teams as many as five player classes. And stamina is
expected to play a factor in hand-to-hand combat or long battles.
