Hey guys, this mod is just full of things that I'd like done in a mod, I do this for my own enjoyment, and hope that others will enjoy it to!
The Men of Dale have been given a new look and will be 2 separate elite units
Spearmen and Archers that can toggle between bow and sword.
Men of Dale done completely by Mathijs!

I love this original design. They look much more like Northmen than PJ's version.

They look too much like Rohirrim imo.
The Rohirrim are descendants of the northern men hence the relation in design.
I understand your point but right now they look a bit "too" much like Rohirrim. Some more of your own fantasy poored into it wouldn't hurt :P, take a look at your Brand, you can see a little bit of the relation in the design with Rohan, but he still retains his uniqueness. But PJ's Dale is still best imo!
They're supposed to.
The men of Rohan and of Dale are both decedents of the Northmen of Rhovanion. I completely disagree with Peter Jackson's depiction being the best since it goes highly against Tolkien.
No I disagree about the "completely against Tolkien" part. Just because they are both descendents from the Northmen doesn't mean they should wear the same or similair armor. Since Rohan has closer relations with Gondor their armor designs could be influenced by them; the same goes for Dale which has closer relations to Erebor. As far as I know Tolkien never released concepts of both Dale and Rohan armour, so everyone is free to decide how they should look. But my opinion still stands, they look a bit too much like rohirrim.
Tolkien based the Rohirrim and by extension the northern men on the vikings, relation because both the cultures being from the north. So yes the design can be considered something against Tolkien canon, (although I to like the PJ design hehe).
But I also like Mathijs's designs because they are simply the Rohirrim with the influence of the riches of the mountain. It's simple and nothing outlandish, complementing the lore.
I do not agree! They have small ressemblence which is good due to the common roots of both Factions but thied Dale Soldiers are too Heavy Armored to be called Rohirim! They resemble them but stll have and keep their own style and uniqueness!! :)
All I can say is good job really amyzing job I even like more than the Theatrical Version of PJ! :)

TO me the Soldier in the Middle is the best for Dale from pure presonal preferences of course! :)
@Dain, change the helmet to that of a Royal Guard and you won't see much difference ;). So they are not too heavily armored to be rohirrim.
@RoR, Well that's the thing; where exactly do you see the influence of Erebor? I didn't know that the Northmen were based on the Norse though, I thought it was only the Rohirrim, so thank you for that.
He means that the Colors and the More Armor and Gold Yellow symbolizes the close connection and trade with the Dwarves and the riches they get from that! :-)
Brilliant!
Rohirrim were originally men from Rhovanion, before Eorl the Young got in the lands that later became Rohan, after assisting Gondor against the Wainrider Invasions. So it kinda makes sense. Cool concept, creative and in my oppinion lore friendly
*Not overbearing with horse culture.
*Rich design.
I like these Dale soldiers.
