Mississippi was not a state in the revolution. So how would they have an infantry regiment in the revolution?

That's a map of the USA years after the Revolution.
Perhaps, either way it wont be the 5th Mississippi in the finished product. Some of our team chose the unit without the advice of the group. Culpepper Minutemen will be chosen in its stead.
It was a territory that the French surrendered after the Frenh and Indian war.
