Half-Life: The Core is a classic retelling of the events surrounding the Resonance Cascade disaster from a new perspective. Featuring intense action, complex puzzles and believable narrative through all-new locations in Black Mesa with remarkable visual fidelity, pacing and humour.
I really like this area, but what exactly is it supposed to be, it reminds me of the Holocaust museum in Washington DC.
I can't say what it is, but I can confirm there are no links to Holocausts or museums catering to them.
Now that looks hot although the BM logo looks somewhat out of place but it's hard to judge without seeing the roof for comparison. The area itself looks very colorful and nice. I must admit most of your areas look like any normal day in Black Mesa. Half the facility went down to hell but this place looks perfectly in tact not even power outages of any kind. Not sure about that but it certainly does look epic good work!
When you see the pre-disaster version I think you may change your opinion. Most of the lights are actually off in this screenie & there's also considerable structural damage and a lot of fire!

Here's the link with the roof seen.
WOW. this looks so goood!!
Many thanks
Who taught you guys how to map? God? You two are ******* elites.
Many many years of experience and one or two mapping communities. Just joining a forum where mappers share their experiences is a very quick way to learn the tricks of the trade.
By joining the team to work on The Core, Archie has actually taken a step back from Source. Fortunately he has brought his excellent attention to detail with him.
Cool. Ether way, you guys are the best goldsource mappers I've seen yet.
*jaw falls off*
Yeah, we're sorry about that.
Very refreshing! like a cold soda of the vending machine. Cheers!
I came.
Yeah, we're sorry about that.
Awesome mapping, as always.
This area is in the surface, isn't it? What happens when it's night time, I can see that those corridors have lights, but what about the main area, is there lights in the ceiling (that I can't see from this angle) that are able to illuminate the hall during the night?
It's a fair point, and one that I actually never really considered because the building it's based on where I used to work didn't actually have lights. ( Hunter.weebitmagic.com ).
I have however added spotlights on the ceiling although in reality they would have to be like 25,000 Watts to light that area.
So, you work in real Black Mesa?
*worked. Past tense. It was destroyed.
Well, if the building isn't supposed to be used at night then there is no problem in not having lights on it. If there is somebody there it would be nighttime security guards, and they normally have flashlights.
This is why I love half-life. No matter how many times you come back to the game, it can still surprise you. Still feel fresh. This is why this game will never be forgotten.
Man, this looks a lot like Source. Keep up the good work, can't wait till this is released.
That area is perfect! :0) So it's an office area or something, right?
