The Call of the Fireflies is a puzzle-based singleplayer mod for Crysis. There's no guns, explosions or nanosuits involved. Just an old man who follows mysterious fireflies through mountains and dark caves, sleeping villages and frozen woods, and has to use all kinds of mechanisms to open his path, while battling to stay alive in the winter cold.

At first I thought: "Why I can't run? Why I can't jump? Why there is no background music?"
But later I understood. This mod is very beautiful and in every moment you should enjoy not only the graphics, but also the sounds of nature and used ideas.
I give only 8/10, because it has a few bugs, even in update v2 (e.g. 1 - You must walk, and walk kilometres, sometimes don't know in which direction. It's really annoying and tedious. 2 - When you are frozen for while and you warm up, there is still blur on your screen. You must reload modification to restore original sharpness effect).
However, you should definitely download "The Call of the Fireflies" if you want to spent a nice time.

P.S. Idea with the wind was taken from the "Medal of Honor" game (2010 edition). But really, in this production it was better exploited.

Cryengine 2 is woefully neglected when it comes to the modding realm, often attributed instead as a building block for thousands and thousands of mods and levels completely identical to the base game. The expanse of the SDK and level designer go often ignored, users instead wishing to create the same old action game against north koreans over and over again. Despite this gigantic stereotype Call of the Fireflies stands out as a mournful memento of a time almost past, and that time is what could…
