Being hidden amongst trees certainly makes more sense, as most spiders live either in the branches or near the roots of trees, in reality.

It would also heavily diferentiate it from the Goblin, Warg and Troll Lairs. Even the Wight Lairs in BFME2 were too stony.
Are there so many risen caves in Middle Earth?

I really like concept 3 and 7, as they look like holes in the ground, which real spiders are also known to dig.
