The AV-8B Harrier II Plus adds a new APG-65 radar to the (already) extended capabilities of the Night Attack Harrier version (which in turn upgraded the initial "Day-Attack" AV-8B by incorporating new electronics, enhanced cockpit and more powerful engines).
This aircraft will provide Close Air Support to the US Naval and Landing Forces with armament similar to the one of the A-10C.
Armed with a 25mm GAU-12U Equalizer cannon, AGM-65 Mavericks and AIM-9 Sidewinders, this aircraft will be vital for multiple close air support assignments.
The Harrier is a V/STOL (Vertical / Short Take-Off and Landing) ground attack aircraft which will be able to "hover" in order to use it's 25mm cannon with great accuracy and effectiveness.
Does it hover in the game too?

Yeah, the player will be able to switch the plane from "Jet Mode" (standard flight) to "Hover Mode".
While in Hover Mode, the plane will be capable of very accurate cannon fire (using it's integral cannon) or Vertical Take-Off and Landing.
One problem. Great britain makes these things, what are the chances of the US being able to replenish ther stocks when the supply source is at war with them?
In this case we can assume that these are the Harriers which are already in service, since the AV-8B line is no longer produced and will be eventually replaced by the Joint Strike Fighter.
i remembered the JSF in contra.. it can't switch between modes.. it's only mode is standard flight..
actually the marines and navy use them so we have to have at least a few plants to build them
i stand corrected i just learned that we have a limited supply of harriers
