The Ancient Mediterranean MOD features a complete modification of Civilization IV. The game now only takes place in the times of Egypt, Rome, and Carthage. It is a complete overhaul of Civilization IV that leaves the basic mechanics of Civilization IV intact.

The Ancient History Encyclopedia (ancientopedia.com) is a new project by Thamis, the original creator of The Ancient Mediterranean MOD. It's a community-based website about ancient history, that was created with the motto: "Ancient history is too important to be hidden in expensive books or badly-organized websites!" Now your knowledge is needed: We need to grow the amount of free, high-quality ancient history content on the site!

The goal of the Ancient History Encyclopedia is to make ancient history available on the internet in an accessible and modern format, showing definitions, timelines, maps, articles, and illustrations about various ancient history subjects.

The website is organized around tags, which means that similar content can be displayed for many related subjects. For each tag, we have a definition, a timeline, several in-depth articles, maps, and illustrations.

All content is created by the community, and is reviewed for quality by the editors before it is published. This way we ensure that all content is relevant, readable, and accurate... which is not always the case on Wikipedia (where quite a few ancient history articles and nearly unreadable).

The site already has a lot of content, but to live up to its goal, much more is needed. Please join the community and add your knowledge to the website! We need timeline entries, definitions, articles, and maps.

Ancient history is too important to be hidden in expensive books or badly-organized websites... Free ancient history!
