Take on the role of an operative in the Hex Gen network, a decentralized movement of hacktivists resisting the economic pillaging conducted by the unholy alliances of Big Tech, Big Military, and Big Finance. Think "The Windup Girl" meets "Neuromancer". Features: -Facial, vocal biometric capture devices -"Nohface" electronic face projector for thwarting surveillance/drones which cover almost every inch of city -Wireless internet -Darknets - all web activity is fully surveilled, you need stealth not only in meatspace but in cyberspace -More types of hacking - cryptography, DDoS, spoofing -Hunger: experience real economic destitution as you slowly die of starvation and are forced to beg, steal, or even kill for a piece of bread. -DIY: Upgrade your hemp trenchcoat with solar trim, syphon electricity from the private power grid, take apart old phones and radios to hack together an EMP gun, set up a hydroponic garden in your squatted flat so you don't have to kill for every meal.

Oh lawd, not many people would go this far, but it'll probably increased the atmosphere quite a bit, especially with the little happy smiley faceys everywhere.

I'm still debating what degree of "rawness" would be best for the game. On the one hand, it might come off as over the top to include violence against children, on the other hand, US bombers and drones blow up schools and hospitals all the time. We're just shielded from the results of our nations' actions. It also cuts through the "abstractness" and "gaminess" of just running around killing "bad guys" with cool weapons. You also won't see the actual event, just the result.

Don't be afraid to modify the concepts of a generic "good and bad". That's one thing that kept me on this mod. No generic good and bad, you won't judge as you are not following the rules, just guaranteeing your survival.

I think keeping it with the really horrible dystopian atmosphere of bombing children is good.

Keep it. Total dystopisms, which is sometimes not far from reality is never seen in games, and rarely in mods. Yours is one of the few.

That's a good point. I think I'll leave it in.

Yes, leave it in.

Bombs are terrible, no matter who sets it off.

U.S. bombs don't scatter dandelions allover the place - just tears.

That description box text - is that dialogue from the mod? If so, BRILLIANT.

Thanks, and yes it's an excerpt of dialog from the game's story.

Description

“Carpet bombing fourteen city blocks worth of schools and apartments full of families who had nothing to do with the movement at all just to get at a cell of underclass insurgents? That was setting an example?”

“Jack, Jack. My boy. Of course I don’t want to see innocent people killed any more than you do. Of course we’d prefer to control the hoi polloi with hope. It’s much more efficient in the cost-benefit analysis to have people believing, falsely, that they can Be Whatever They Want When They Grow Up in America. But with the extent to which things have managed to deteriorate, it’s becoming harder and harder to sell the shit sandwiches as caviar. So now we’ve got to rely on good old fashioned People’s Republic of China-style fear of Authority with an itchy trigger finger. It’s – what do those "World Class War" lefty financial journalists call it? Moral Hazard. That’s it. This is about hammering down the dissident nails. Reinstating the hazard of being moral."
