Galactopticon is a single-player sci-fi comedy FPS starring a gang of hard-boiled interstellar pirates. The epic storyline will be supported by gameplay elements such as ironsight aiming and an RPG-style branching dialogue system.
Something about the city shots seems a bit...off. I think it's that the global lighting doesn't mix right with the light from the various colorful signs, or something like that. The signs give the impression that the ambient light should be more varied and colorful than it is. Maybe it's just me.
I think overall it just seems that the global lighting is to bright. The signs would really have more impact if it were generally a bit darker, and it would make the whole scene quite a bit more dramatic.
Probably just me, though.
Mainly make the signage lighting much more constant across a given distance (Constant > 5x the width of the street in Hammer units). You don't necessarily need a higher brightness from the signage, but just more constant lighting.
But definitely lower the light_environment some...look to Left 4 Dead's "No Mercy" light_environment settings on the VDC for inspiration.
Oh, they'll have to glue HIM back together...anyone care to finish the sentence?
Also, the lighting's fine. But there IS too much light coming from what seems like nowhere. Plus, the effect of whatever lights the are hidden would probably be too small for this. Bit that's hardly noticeable. Love the pic anyways.

Maybe it could be raining and you could see reflections of signs in the puddles on the ground.
Prettyyyyyy
Hey, once you play the map, the light makes more sense.
