Tacos Mod contain 25 new missions, 47 new weapons, rifle-grenade-launchers, flame-throwers, missions set during winter, 11 new items, 25 new ammunition types for firearms, over 60 new textures & more. The mod lean towards historical accuracy, but focuses more on game-play with missions both completely fictional & some loosely based on real events. Tacos Mod version Alpha-5 Breakdown


It took some time, but Alpha-5 is finally finished. With Alpha-5 you can now play single-player with pause, save & load features, which you couldn't in some of the earlier versions of Tacos Mod. It also have the first 2 missions of a new campaign that is being made as well as a PvP multi-player over-haul.

Factions in PvP will no longer be very similar, but instead a bit unique. The American & British factions were merged, a new faction was created; the Finland-Poland faction. The old factions were also changed in terms of their units, the unit's equipment & their cost. USA-Gr.Britain have the most "balanced" army, with no units costing more or less than average as well as a good selection of both infantry & vehicles. Germany have expensive infantry, but are better equipped as well as have more elite units. USSR have over-all below average infantry, but cheaper, except the anti-tank units which are more expensive. Finland-Poland have above average infantry but a poor selection of vehicles, which are also more expensive.

Another change in PvP is that every infantry only cost 1 CP, so the CP limit only limits how many units a player have, instead of the quality of them.

  • Ckm wz.30 - Machine-Gun
  • MP-38 - Sub-Machine-Gun
  • M/1894 - Rifle
  • M/22 - Machine-Gun

Alpha-5 also have 3 new ammunition types, 2 new helmets, 2 new uniform textures & 2 new missions & maps that are part of the new campaign. There are also 2 new training missions that also explain mod-specific things. Some changes in Alpha-5 are:

  • Anti-Tank rifles now use correct ammunition types.
  • All vanilla SHoWW2 missions are disabled & doesn't clutter the missions list anymore.
  • The map & mission for Entrenched Mess were updated to fix the terrain settings & add some more details to the town.
  • Stacking limit for anti-tank rifle ammunition is now 10 instead of 5.
  • Stacking limit for 8x57mm IS ammunition is now 50 instead of 10.
  • Machine-guns' max range is now 75 instead of 60.
  • Machine-guns now deal the same damage as rifles.
  • Pistols now deal the same damage as sub-machine-guns.
  • Weapon accuracy changed for pistols, rifles, sub-machine-guns & machine-guns. Cover provides same or more accuracy bonus as lying prone & machine-guns are now less accurate when standing.
  • Fallschirmjäger units in the missions Fallen Hunters & Cassino Town now use the new skin.

The new campaign is called 7. Flieger-Division. It's about the creation of the 1. Fallschirmjäger Division & it's missions. The campaign is based on real events of the division, but the characters & the specifics in each mission are fictional & somewhat exaggerated at times. The campaign is not meant to be very serious & is a bit light-hearted with some serious elements.
